See, I would have lied!! How many people reading your blog know the difference between a coyote and a wolf? In the words of the rapper, 'not many, if any'. So the photo of the white 'wolf' running up the bank would have been fine if you had called it a 'Wolf'! And if any academia biased respondent sent a message to the blog to correct your oversight - you'd just delete it like it never happened!. That does not mean that the unusual leopard in an earlier blog of ours was really a mangy old tabby -despite the collar and the silver name tag for 'Mr Tiddles'!!Did not realise that the wolves were so shy and had expected that as they had been there awhile now they would have been more used to people. Great pictures Swamp and loved the blog Steph, great read and just showed the kids the photos. Told them the white one was a wolf as well but Reubs read the heading and saw fit to correct me. I told him Craig couldn't tell a Coyote from a Wolf or a chicken from a cheetah and didn't know what he was talking about. The boy seemed to buy that! You'd think he'd know by now. You really would wouldn't you...
We're just home from Taupo. We saw snow too.... a long way away on mountains, where it belongs!! Not up to the roof rack on your 4x4. All good here, kids well,SSDD...
Take care and be kind to one another.... **
(**Ellen De Generes says it as her final comment at the very end of her show at 5:59 pm every day just as I've changed the channel for the news and it grates every time!!! hate being told what to do!!)
Beach was closed? The mustangs in the snow a great picture. All looks beautiful regardless of the snow. Good luck with the wolve's - we had a look at your guides web site last night and got a bit of an idea on the population and how they are divided into the different packs. That should be amazing and very jealous of that part of it. Snow and cold - not so much - but this is the time of the year to see them and I guess that means they come with snow. Have a good day, good luck with the wolves and hoping its an awesome experience. Take care.
mmmm To say we are jealous is an understatement!
We want to hear EVERY detail when you get back.
Well maybe not EVERY detail. You can leave out the toilet bits :)
Coopers
Where are the rocks?? Great photos!! How many shots of the Blue Jay did you have to select from, very cool. Never seen a woman walk out of GAP empty handed - Sandy told me that purchasing was a condition of entry! Could she have been lying? Looks a bit chilly - funny thing that about snow. Looks to be a very different landscape from last weeks. Have a great time and keep posting the blogs.
A hobbit pilgrimage? You know how we mock tourists that come to NZ to go to Matamata to find Hobbiton? Weeelllll, tourists who drive around the desert looking for movie scenes are just a little like that... All the same, looked an interesting day with some very cool stuff to see. That track appears from the photograph to be designed for mountain goats not cars so big call taking that on. A white knuckle ride at 15 km per hour...yuk! As usual all good here and nothing to report of any import. Stay well, travel safe... talk again soon.
Who did that song? Just in case your Eagles back catalogue runs dry..Don't get lost, ask is this the way to amarillo. Watch out for the Wichita Lineman, he;' still on the line. Personally, I'm going to Jackson...ain't ever coming back, that's if I don't get busted flat in Baton Rouge heading for the train feeling nearly faded as my jeans. If you are 24 hours from Tulsa, stop in at Galveston and see if the sea winds are still blowing. Don't get Rocky Mountain High, or take the Rocky Mountain way. See if Billy Joe McAlister is still at the bottom of the Tallahasee Bridge while you are there. Oklahoma City looks awful pretty too I've heard if you ever plan to motor west. Have a great time COB & Chrissy
Need a stetson! Suspect you've already bought one on past form! Great blogs, really liked the last one with the semi veilled references to Eagles tracks, little surprised there weren't a few more slipped in. Don't hurry home, nothings changed. Keep posting the blogs...
Credit where it's due... You really should credit Jackson Browne for the song, he co- wrote it with Glen Frey and I believe performed it in public first. He can also be spotted as one of the 'desperados' on the ground in the album cover art....just thought you should know...
Great blog by the way....;)
Tripod coming in useful... Now, you can keep your camp grounds in sub zero temperatures conveniently placed alongside railway docking yards and adjacent to interstates and your cheap and cheerful (read nasty) hotels and your one pot tuna and rice and veges...but... this looks like a good day at the office. Amazing scenery, wild life, one of the wonders of the world and we are envious of that big time. Not a theme park to be seen either - marvellous!! That is all worth making the effort for. Very cool colours. Being a national park... are the mules steam or diesel? From here... all good. Kids well and we are showing them the blog... keep posting the photographs...they are great. I thought Steph was going to be the wordsmith on this epic adventure??? Looking forward to the next installment...
