Haha - glad someone else suffered too This blog is pretty much the exact same blog I wrote about the amazon when we went - scary plane journeys (for the girl in the relationship though, not the boy, man up Steve!) and multiple mozzie bites!
Wildlife looks awesome though.
Keep enjoying it xx
Love the photos Fab photos guys - looks like you are having such a good time, totally jealous!!
Have finally moved house, hurrah, so when you guys are back we'll look forward to hosting you to a post-Chrimbo, pre-NYE dinner etc.
Love to both xx
Tour Company We went with Estrella del Sur and would definately recommend them! There are loads of people on the tours at the moment, it not being high season doesn't seem to have that much of an effect! Hope that helps.
Monkeys are back! Pleased to see the monkeys are back - as we said, we paid extra for those to look after you - they won't hurt you. They are just warning you of the gators - they are number 42 on the gator menu and they don't want you added to it.
Fantastic photos, can't wait to see them all and hear about it when you come back. Love the 'punk-rocker bird' - did it have safety pin through its nose and a zip down its back?
Small aeroplanes + turbulence and mountains = a fun ride - I love it. Best thing to do is just relax and pretend it is a funfare ride - you can be sure everything will be OK. The pilot does that all the time and the aeroplanes are designed for it so don't worry, just enjoy the ride.

sounds great, do you remember the name of the tour company? Hey, thanks for the blog, sounds like a really great time. Do you remember the name of the tour company for this bit of the trip? Also, I'm going to be traveling by myself, are there many travelers out there right now? I know it's not necessarily the high season.
thanks
hhaahahaa i love the rant! Bolivian and Peruvian buses are the worst, we had goats and lambs and big ladies in loads of our journeys- coupled with being incredibly bumpy its not always a fun place to be! We wanted to go in the mine but didnt have enough time- apparently is was amazing! tasty llama meat! miss you guys, have fun, take care xxxxx
Are you nice to be near? Oh goodness, what an experience, your comment on earlier blog about smelly geezers ( and gals?) must have been prophetic.
Obviously Sure, Palmolive etc ( there are other personal hygiene products available) do not enjoy huge profits in Bolivia.
So pleased you resisted urge to explore the mine in spite of your interest in things expensive and sparkly. I'm currently rather nervous of mines in South America.
Not sure I'd fancy the llama steak. I find it hard to think of animals you see in London zoo as fodder; I'll stick to chicken.
Guess you are just about half way through now. In some ways its gone quickly in others its ages since we saw you. Enjoy the rest of the time and hope all fellow travellers smell sweet. Mum xxxxx
Food again! Steve, so many references and pictures of you enjoying food, expecially meat. What will people think of how you were raised. I guess I must put it down to the standard of cooking you got when you were still at home!
You're right, I am glad you didn't go down the silver tunnels.
You both have my deepest symphathies for the cold you experienced at altitude. I trust you are somewhere warmer now.
Flamingoes Your are right Dad, one point! Flamingoes are pink because of their diet! In the salt flats there are brightly coloured microoragnisms that live in the lagoons. Glad you like the photos! xxx
Hi Ellie! I hope you and steve are well! It looks like you are both having an amazing time! We all miss you at school and remember you often in year 3, particularly Joshua bless him every time we do french!lol! We're all having a great time celebrating languages week this week thanks to all the amazing stuff you left for us. Speak soon! Take care of yourself! - munazza :-)
Reflection Wow I am so envious of you two !!!!The pictures are AMAZING!!!!
I love this one!Who is the fab photographer????
Missing you Ellie, but you go girl and have a brilliant timexxx
Lambeth Town Hall I have to side with Virge here, she is quite correct, it DOES so look like the clock tower on Lambeth Town Hall. It also bears a passing resemblence to Barking Town Hall too. Not East Ham though, for thats entirely built of red brick.
Now this is food for thought!
You two could start a whole cult thing with a modern day take on "Where's Wally?" Remember those books??
Where on Earth are SteveAndEllie? Is it Buenos Aires, is it Lambeth, or outside chance.... is it Barking?
Happy travels, wherever you are? Chilie?? Yes, its cold here today too!
In your shadow... ... Hey, i've been really enjoying reading your blog - we're following in your footsteps it seems, a week on monday we fly to Rio - then we're doing practically the same route as you (Ilha Grande, Iguazu, BA etc etc...) good luck with the rest of it :)
