Stuck on one word! Hello Both
Once again Simon a great write-up and photo's to match. I just sort of stopped when you put that one short sentence in about a Tarantula crossing Claire's path...
Loved the grin on your face after your skydive, congratulations but want to know who stuck the ski pole in the top of your head (Lunch at the volcano photo?)
We love your photos!!! We love your stories and we espechilly love the photo of you both on horseback,we would both love to know where you will be on xmas day.we asked mam but she said that you both probably dont know where you will be!!!love and big hugs to you both.amy and jack.xxxxxxx.xxxxx
Trumping or following through You've brought a little wonder and a lot of jealousy to my dreary desk - but i'm intrigued by the comment 'Claire came through with trumps'. If the girl's a bit breezy, surely that's a private matter? Assuming it didn't cause other abseilers to faint and crash down the face! Big hugs to you, Hx
You should have been the new Bond Simon you shuold have been the new bond mind you don't even look shaken let alone stirred. Claire dare I say it you could be "Pussy Galore"
Crazy people Have just read your latest travel blog..you crazy people you.Are you going through some early-ish mid life crisis with all these extreme activities, you are either brave or mad. Or indeed turning into those blase South americans who don't seem to mind too much about death and happily take the most dangerous road in the world daily.
HAPPY LITTLE ROBBER'S ! No wonder the kids are all happy !, they have just made 200 quid selling your new camera down the markets !. Keep up the good work !
Glasses Claire, so I take it you couldn't get the prescription contact lenses or was it the night before?
Need to try the "ritual", sounds most interesting - not sure about the lack of alcohol though (there is always a draw back)
I shall expect it Tolerance, love and respect eh? I shall remind you of this next time you run out of patience with me. I was hoping to read of any regressions you may have experienced but respect your privacy. Really good piece of writing, enjoyed it thoroughly.
Happy Birthday Hi both ... looks like you had a great Birthday Si and Claire that was feat of packing to ensure matching top and lippy bearing in mind how little room you will have had. The Guys are in fine form, little Munchkin is loving Nursery, Big Munchkin is loving his job and I'm back at work ... going to talk to Pottsie now about possibly rejoining contracts Arghhhhh. Hugs Jo
I've been waiting for these! So pleased you had a good '40th' and a curry to boot. I thought the photo (er...much - forty so what) may have been Simon lying on the pavement, still standing at 2am Simon, why? Maybe your B'Day cards will show-up in time for your 41st, now that does sound ooooold!
Cochabamba As a Bolivian and Cochabambino, I was amused at your artcle.. Bit Bolivia mever had a Jap for a Presidnt . It was Peru, and he is in disgrace in Japan at the moment.
No wonder I haven't heard from you! Just been catching up with your latest travels, sounds as though you had a great time. I think Gavin's taking note of his own 'shot' Simon.
Keep up the good work.

Jet-Lagged I know I've been home for two days but my brain is still somewhere in Peru. This is the first chance I've had to read the latest 'blogs'. Very pleased you completed your trek, especially at your age Simon! Thanks for the write-up both and letting everyone one I was on the drugs..
I'd kill for a churros today.
Another great menu line 'German netters of the most satisfactory' never could find out what it was, has anyone any ideas?
Happy Hippy! So they don't do hair-cuts in Boliva then? It'll be down to your waist by the time you get back!
Remember our discussion about good times and bad times ahead for you both in South America. Profetic it would seem, although happily erring on the former, I'd say!
All Aboard ! Man,
My 11 yr old can't wait to get to Bolivia to ride "the most dangerous road in the world", but then he is an aussie so will be prone to things like this !. Oh well the suufering that we have to live in Sunshine !!.
Marmite and Spiders Much admiration for both of you. From a person who has to brush down their washing line with gloved hands to get rid of the spiders webs I would have to have some serious therapy to take on such a challenge. Plus I don't like marmite so would be a delicious feast for those mosis. Have now read up all your journals and it sounds like you are having such a great time, but Simon I hope you aren't bullying poor Claire into challenges she doesn't want to do! Missing you both lots.
Away in The Major
Five years and five weeks ago we wandered wide eyed into the Heathrow arrivals hall in the manner of Hugh Grant in “Love Actually”, direct from Lima and our year out in South America to be met by Simon’s Dad - seee all our previous blogs.
Bitten by the travel bug we had promised ourselves over numerous wine and steak dinners in the Southern Cone that life on the road was so good that we would aim for a “mini sabbatical” every 5 years or so to while away the ever increasing years until our retirements…
Needless to say with work and the arrival of twin boys... full info
