Like the tinny fish - Bourke sounds cool. You are certainly making good time. PS Don't bother bringing bush flies back with you - we have plenty of the small irritating type since the last drizzle.

Rare birds
Sigh, so lovely. And you saw nesting rare pigeons! I think the other night birds from your inland camp might be thick knees, bit like bush stone curlews (which have a mournful woman's cry).

Hi Guys, We love your blog, having stumbled across it researching and planning our first real getaway. We\'re reading your updates every night while still in the Sydney grind with jobs and a 15month old bub but hoping to do our first trip next March - your descriptive blog is giving us much inspiration, if not envy!!! Please keep it up Joan & Greg! Kind regards, Megan & Andrew

taxing my Aussie vocal knowledge!
Hi J and G, I am enjoying your blog updates... sounds like you are having a fun trip. Your latest post stumped me twice on vocab, though.... bowser? gymkhana? Will google ;-). Cheers, Anita

Goondiwindi vocab
bowser - gas pump gymkhana - horse riding event demonstrating practical skills. In this case it was similar to a quarter horse competition with points for separating cattle from a herd.
