Cory got his knee We really enjoyed reading about all your experiences. You made us both laugh till we had tears in our eyes! Felt like we were right there with you! We are so glad that Cory’s surgery is behind him and he is now ENJOYING physical therapy! Where else could he have such fun, thinking of you both and sending Get Well Wishes! Take care,,
Thank you Glad you enjoyed the blog. We appreciate your well wishes. Cory’s next outing is to Walmart….my favorite….he’ll just sit in the car while I RUN thru the store….yeah…right!
Yes I remember their name….I’m sure they knew my grandparents: James & Gertrude Fox. They lived on the Haskinsville Rd right off Big Creek. I had to walk down to the road to get the school bus.
My surgery My back surgery will be done at the Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua by a neurosurgeon who works out of Strong Memorial. He is well recommended.
Relating to being without water, etc One winter long ago our well went dry in Hallsport. It was ages before we were able to get a new well drilled and very challenging to live without running water. I took showers at the hospital where I was working, Galen hauled in water or snow to flush the toilet and I was glad we didn't have kids yet. I can sympathize with you about the lack of water. You take it for granted until you don't have it!
I liked the cottages you pictured. We had a cottage with an addition on it at a park in Zephyrhills. We enjoyed it.
Good wishes to Cory with the knee surgery. I am scheduled for a lumbar laminectomy on October 11th.
Best Wishes I like that you can relate to our no water situation. Actually, when I lived for awhile on my grandparents farm on Big Creek outside of Howard, they had NO running water!! My mother and her sisters tried to convince my grandfather, they would pay for a well if he would okay it. Nope….set in his ways. So I’m familiar with outhouses and metal tub baths, thunder mugs…you name it. We wish you the very best with your back surgery. Keep us posted as to how you are coming along. Where are you having it done? ❤️

Back in Shongo I can really picture your location and the WAG trail. Melanie Hunt Streeter puts such great pictures of that area on facebook. Do you know who her parents are or anything about her? Glad that things worked out for you to get TV and WiFi in Shongo. (Another problem solved)
Hi, Betsey No, I don’t think we know the Streeter woman. The WAG has always been a fun place for us. We used to cross country ski into Wellsville on it. I always walked our dog, Chip, on it. Our grandchildren knew it well when they were young….we always looked for the trees that had beaver chew on them.
We used to live in the Western part of NY, close to PA border. Have been married 59 years. We have four fabulous children (Lory, Kim, Cory, Tim). They have given us nine terrific grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. All families live in N.Y. We are retired...Cory was VP of Human Resources...Sandy was an R.N. We now live in our 2008 Phaeton RV full time and are loving it! In 2012 we lost our beloved dog, Chip - our chocolate lab. He was our dear traveling companion. He was almost 13 years old. His memory will travel with us wherever we go. We winter in Florida at Tropical Palms RV Park in ... full info
