Lyon Interesting trivia note: In my "band" the married couple who plays mandolin and banjo have a daughter who lives in Lyon, France. The daughter is married with two children and will be visiting the USA in August.
Le Tour What a splendid day! Was indeed a pleasure to meet you and your Mom Sandie. Have been catching up on your blog and you do seem to be having a very busy time. Hope you're enjoying your time in France. Will attempt to see ya again before you return to Canada - I know you've sent me a message about this and will now check the details again. Have a belle jour! Gordon. P.S. - My new Panasonic camera has now arrived and I'm trying to work out the instructions... tres complicated.
gone but hopefully not forgotten I am so glad you got to La Belle Epoque..Wonderful memories. Would give almost anything to return...Marmot Barn also.. Is this the house Sylvette(?) mentioned??? Your pictures are so very good. Many Thanks for you blogging!!! XXXOOO Mom
Ken's arrival... Hi Guys...so glad to know that Ken arrived safely!!! I absolutley love reading your entries Sandi; I look forward to them. Can't wait to hear about the entire adventure upon your return...love to you both!!!
Kenny B Oh to be in Bordeaux now that Ken is there. Or is that Oh to be in Paris now that Spring is here???At any rate I miss the joie de vie and all that stuff. Drank the Rose lst night Good Good Good. served salad with lardon, cheese, Poulet and light oil and Vinegar and Bagguette..Dad liked it but would not like to make a steady diet of it.. Too bad!!! Have a wonderful time you two.. Hugs to J-F, Colette and of course the beautiful butcher family.. XXXOOO Mom
I don't know about anyone else .... ... but I would love to see the place you are staying, inside and out. If it doesn't take too much time. I don't remember seeing the domestic side of your stay, how's the kitchen? :)
I am glad you are feeling better, be sure to get enough rest. Trucking about nonstop can wear you down, as well as nonstop bargain hunting. lol
Tired but still pumped!!! Hi my dear.. Glad you are feeling a little better.. Had no trouble coming home but since I had the same seat and all were booked and I counted 32 kids of various ylung ages i upgraded and it was well worth the $.. In Club class the sardine ambiamce is not evident amd although the serive is not up to Bus. Class on other planes there was certainly nothning wrong with the care and feeding of the comfortable and uncrowded passengers. everything got home in one piece and i didn't have to pay any duty on anything..Just mentioned all the wime and Rillette and all was ok. mThe customs gut said no one can come home from France with on.y 2 bottles of wine and he passed me though..We play golf this AM @ 10:30 and I am fairly well rested..Take care and look after the big guy as well as you looked after me.You were wonderful.. XXXXOOOO Mom
Miss you :-( :( I wish we saw your sign!! Dad and I woke up real early to watch it but we never saw it!! I hope you're having fun mom I love you and miss you guys lots!!! Love you!
Missing Picture Where is the shot of the "beautiful Butcher's daughter?"
The landscapes, architecture, and food is all wonderful, but .....
Hope you enjoy seeing the Tour. It should be exciting!
New career possibility?? Am thoroughly enjoying your travelogue Sandi! Can't help wondering tho if you have an unpublished motive for your trip. Perhaps a post-retirement vocation as a vintner? lol Love your descriptive narrative and look forward to more photos of yourself and your hosts. Safe journey! luv g.
Beautiful Balustrades Sandi your pictures of the balustrades are beautiful. Do people live in large apartment style homes in this town. What is the age of the town?
Soon!!! Soon is not quick enoufg for me. wonderful photos and the chateau de vous amis looks lovely( Is that correct??) It is too pretty to be a maison.. ( I hope there will be some Champagne left for Friday night. XXXOOO Mom
I guess I have to change this profile for my next trip which starts July 24 and ends August 8. I am driving with my husband from Calgary, Alberta down to Alpine, TX to visit my brother. We will be seeing some awesome sights and meeting some new friends from the internet as well as some relatives along the way. Looking forward to doing the "Margarita Trail" (the drive from Alpine, TX to Devner, CO via Santa Fe and Taos, NM - we know where all the best margartia spots are along the way!) again! Long drive but worth every kilometer!!... full info
