Agnes and Michele's trip began quite extraordinary...besides being half asleep and excited, they were also thrown in a large 'mini' (ha ha, large mini) jeep on the opposite side of the road in unfamiliar territory....so, they got lost coming from shannon to cork, actually in cork....eventually I found them and on we went on a large circle around the city looking for a B&B for them.... YAY! We found one, in all our hurried excitement we went cruising down lower glanmire road....!*POP*! "you hit a mirror, and it broke, and they're in the car!" Well done, Agnes.....lol....call the GARDA! so, [View Full Entry]

Cinco de Mayo Europe » Ireland
Did you know that it's not the celebration of Mexican Independence (from the Spanish)....but rather the Mexican defeat of the French Army? It's true....I think most people just say Independence for the hell of it, even though they live next door to us (in the U.S.)--maybe we should know a bit more. Anyway, I just had one of the most memorable weeks of my life....My advice to the ladies out there: in your life take at least one road trip with a couple of other girls!!!! My advice to the gents: ditto---well, maybe with a couple of other guys...lol. I never [View Full Entry]

So-- I'll make every attempt to relate the smells that I am so fortunate to be exposed to (and can actually smell since I don't smoke ciggies)...I wake up on my purple sheets in my white walled bedroom...the sun pours in (on those lucky days) and the first scent of the day comes with it, i call it 'morning dew' and it fills my nose....a scent some may classify as 'moldy' but it's much lovelier than that...it's more like a wet freshness....like if you bottled up 'fresh morning' and sold it as perfume, that's what it'd be like...yea, yea, that's it. RIP NIKON Europe » Ireland
Sad, but true...my camera officially kicked the bucket today...dead, la fin, kaput! First things first, I accept my loss. The final blow came when I took it to a camera dealer and he basically said it was a crap camera anyway....thanks photography teacher a few years back for recommending it! Anyway, I'm on the case to get a new one...what's a photographer without her camera...? Unless I get me a black box and a pin. hmmm....Oh well. I have to say the last batch of photos I posted were not my best, as has been agreed upon by a certain someone, [View Full Entry]

Hey all! I got a CD back with some photos from St Patrick's weekend...I'm only going to throw up a few cos the sun is shining and I have to get out and get me some of those rays! ;) It rained ALL DAY yesterday...go figure, it's Ireland. Can't believe there's only two months left for me. What's with the whale in the Delaware river? Is that true? Has anyone been anywhere? Got any travel stories to share? Post some messages! Jeanine and Gene I'd love to hear about your road trip...(part work part pleasure--the way to do it!) Anyway love [View Full Entry]

Hello to anyone who reads these.....hope you are doing well, and feeling fresh with the new wave of spring rolling in! I am doing wonderful...I'm locked out of my house right now so am taking up residence at the only other place I feel comfortable....the invisible arena of cyber space! ;) I thought of everyone back home (or where ever you are, if not in philly) and decided to upload a few shots i took whilst roadtrippin round ireland with my first US visitor, Brian!!! Looking forward to Aunt Aggie and Michele coming! and then Frankie! What a gorgeous country! I [View Full Entry]

Howdy! I am completely and totally content, as I hope this finds you in much the same state! My life is exactly where I want it to be and I am grateful to share with all of you the beauty that is before my eyes on a constant basis. I have some photos here, primarily from the Blarney castle, which has a sort of magical feeling around it, maybe it's the positive energy that flows around such a natural and wonderful setting....the grounds there are a simply enjoyable place to go for a walk....especially the time of year I went, when [View Full Entry]

Just a little photo to get you in the spirit of green....There are cows in the top portion but my phone certainly does not double as a camera very well....so you probably can't make them out. But they've become my friends these days...they're the guys on top of the hill. Again, Happy St Paddy's Day! [View Full Entry]

Quickie Europe » Ireland
This has to be a quickie cos I'm trying to make it home in time to get changed and head out for a run (sun is setting on paddy's eve)....where I will allow myself the small accomplishment of getting to the top of this incredible incline I found....It's great on the ass, honestly. Ireland is a runner's paradise...very hilly but not so much so you have to stop and walk the inclines. Every time I get to the top I look over the city and I'm gleaming...right up there on the top of my hill with the cows and birds...then I [View Full Entry]

Kissin da Stone! Europe » Ireland
Oh, I went on another little adventure on Sunday as well...seeing that I'm such a short distance to the Blarney castle I decided to go do the tourist thing...as that is what I am, essentially. I kissed the stone, which is little scarier than I had imagined. There are bars under you to break your fall but still, you literally lean back into the hole and kiss the underside of the stone. One girl after me didn't do it, she freaked out a bit....was kind of funny. The grounds around the castle were really pretty - incorporating a prehistoric Druids site [View Full Entry]
