After hearing the news from the manager Stew of Mamallena's hostel (awsome place to stay if your wanting to party) we quickly made our way out to get some booze for the night, one thing led to another and eventually it was about 5pm and a group of approx 15 of us made our way to the carnival... Until we made it to the markets... this is where all the fun began, we found a place to stay which costed approx 10 US dollers for 4 of us which was awsome we were rather stoaked. Well on the 16th of Jan 07 me and my mate Bryce chartered a run down old fishing boat that was heading out around the Lau islands in Fiji. The boat was called the Tunatuki and was actually one of the roughest boats ive ever set foot on. We shared the voyage with aproximately 200 other Fijians, and we were the only europeans on it of which made the trip more unique. The trip lasted four days stoping off at some of the most untouched gorgeous islands, going approximtely 2-3 knots max in rough seas. On the first night of the trip i was lucky enough to end up sleeping outside as there was no room in the 2 rooms of which

Anyway the road trip started after new years 03 when a group of us decided that it was way to ealry for us all to go back home for work so instead we all jumped in our cars and created a convoy of a mission up around the coromandel. We began by leaving Whangamata and headed up to Hot water beach for the 1st night. For those who have never been to Hot Water beach befor it is amazing. You take a spade out with you and dig a hole in the sand of which fills up with extremely hot water creating an extremly well earned natural hot spa on the beach. What more
