Well we have arrived back in Vancouver after another 2 days on the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff via Kamloops. Tomorrow we leave Canada on the Radiance of the Seas and head up through the Inside Passage, Juneau, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point and Skagway to Seward where we board a wildlife tour bus to take us into Anchorage for the afternoon on the 28th. As the wifi is super $$$$$ on board and we are doing activities at each port I probably won't be able to do another blog for a week and a half. I know, I know! How can you all stand to be incommunicado with me for sooooo long????? Buck up everyone. I'll send more news as soon as I can. As for the last few days, here's what's happened: We made it to ... read more

Well I can't believe another week has gone already. The saying "time flies when you're having fun" certainly is true. After having my dummy spit last Saturday about missing the Peak to Peak and rain, we woke up to a brilliant sun-shiny day on Sunday so we walked the town square a bit. There were heaps of people around and lots of long haired, surfer type bikers in town because the Crankworx down hill mountain biking races were being held in Whistler that week. Noel and I decided to do some adrenaline stuff as well but downhill speed racing was NOT on the agenda. Instead we booked tickets to go zip lining and driving a RZR (ATV) on Cougar Mountain. WOW how good was this? Soooo good! The video we have taken of the ATV drive ... read more

My, my. How the time flies when you are not at work. We left home 8 days ago and it has gone in the blink of an eye already. Well we had a fabulous day for Butchart Gardens and I must say they were magnificent. So many different and equally impressive areas to walk through. There were HEAPS of people there because it is still school holidays in the States and Canada. Kids don't go back until after the first weekend in September. After a rest from all the walking we ventured into Victoria Harbour and wandered the marina area. It was all very clean and tidy. Beautiful flower baskets hanging from the lamp posts and balconies made it so pretty. We went to Miniature World inside the Empress Hotel (very grand!) and had a late ... read more

Our adventure started on Saturday morning with the boys dropping us at Sydney airport. They didn't hang around long and I discovered James Anthony's Facebook post the next day saying "getting rid of the parentals for 6 weeks.. Yay". Thanks for that buddy! If anyone hears about a crazy Facebook party that got crashed by randoms and with police attending, somewhere in Roselands, PLEASE DO NOT tell me until it's time for us to go home. The Fiji Airways flights were full to the brim but they were really smooth and the attendants were lovely and the food was really quite good (but then again I pretty much eat anything as you can tell by my waistline). There was a two and half hour layover in Fiji. This is where we had our first "drama". After ... read more

Well the big adventure starts in 19 days. I hope it will be as good, in real life, as it is in my imagination. All we need now is for the AUD to move in the RIGHT direction instead of the downward spiral it is curently enjoying and to pack. I added my special friends (that's you) to my TravelBlog account so that you can read my posts while I'm away. Send me a quick reply or a message on Facebook if you see this post so I know that I have linked you up to this account properly. Thanks. Love Marg... read more

Well the bookings are nearly all done. We are flying out of Sydney in exactly 22 weeks from today. Thank you Fiji Airways for a great price on the days that I wanted to travel. There's nothing much else I can do now until July when I will be able to organise my last minute accommodations in Vancouver, Lake Louise and Anchorage. I'll have to book some hire cars late July too. In the meantime I need to hope that the AUD/USD exchange rate improves for my spending money that we'll need. It's getting so exciting!... read more
