Memories of our cruise What beautiful pictures. On the last full day of our cruise last July while approaching Amsterdam I had the misfortune of losing a full photo card which contained all my photos of the Moselle. YOur documentary of each town along this beautiful river helped me to recall the towns of the Moselle, Koblenz and Koln. Even though my pictures are gone, I am grateful that you have shared yours with the world.
I agree - the dinner hour was much too long. Happy future cruising.
Thanks Marcia, it's so nice to receive feedback like that. From what I hear it is now a really good time to visit Iceland, their economy has really suffered in the last year or so and now they have some good bargains to attract tourists. Even at the height of the tourist season though we did find most things to be good value especially the special tourist tickets that gave unlimited bus travel together with admissions to museums and all the hot pools in Reykjavik. We believe the coach trip was the best way to see as much as possible.
BEautiful Pictures and a nice description Thank you very much for your report about Iceland and the landscapes, cities, curiosities, country side, flowers, hills, stones, and so on..
I am delighted to read and see all images and histories form this nice and interesting place.
I am brazilian and I have been in Ireland for two years. My dream was to visit Iceland but I could not go there during the time that I was living closer to Iceland( I mean in comparision to Brazil!). So I am happy to read about it. Maybve one day I will have some opportunity to visit this country.
Great photos and good tips!!
Thank you and all the best,
Marcia Ribeiro Brincas
A longer walk I've just finished the whole of the Great North Walk and endorse all the comments. It's been a great experience even though it took a whole year (weekends when not too hot, too wet or too covered in snakes and spiders!). I also found the information at www.thegreatnorthwalk.com useful and interesting
Iceland Complete Re: I was there in the end of september
It was well before the downturn in the economy and the bank problems when we were there. We often think about the people in Iceland because they were so nice to us, we hope they are all recovering from the problems and the tourist industry in in full swing again. We hope to go back one day, maybe on a cruise that continues to Greenland.
I was there in the end of september My whife, daugther and i were in iceland for 10 days. We had a rental car and came all around the contry, 2000 km. I will never forget the color of the tundra, yellow, red and brown. I have pictures of the first snow in the northern highland mountains. And we sat, in Reykjavik, in an outdoor hottube in the black night and looked in the sky while the fluffy snow fell gently in our faces.
Great North Walk is GREAT Great North Walk is a truly wonderful trail of 250 km between Sydney and Newcastle. It’s a treasure trove of beautiful engravings; historic obelisks and peculiar mysteries - go to

Thanks Jess, I'm glad that you like the animals at the reptile park, I'm hoping that it will be there for a very very long time. When I was 7 I got my first small camera and had a lot of fun taking pictures of lots of things, I hope you can do the same, I'm sure that you will enjoy it.

Thanks Anna, Iceland was one of the best holidays that we've had in the last twenty years, I think we had a really good tour guide and coach driver which made a very big difference.
Would certainly like to go back and visit the other parts, we might combine it with a trip to Greenland.
Nice to see your photos. Looks like you got to do a lot more in Rekyavik than I had time for in my recent trip. Iceland is such a beautiful country though... perhaps a return visit is in order sometime in the future! :) Enjoy your travels.
Many thanks Dave. That was a very enjoyable holiday with some very pleasant surprises. We enjoy travel in Oz just as much as overseas. Next one will be Kangaroo Island in March.
Retired and love travel, cruising in particular and have plenty of time to do it. We like to swap information with others so as to be ready for any holiday to get the most out of it.
The pictures that I have posted here have been resized for the Internet; if anyone would like better quality copies they can have them for free. Starting in 2009 my pictures have been resized to 16:9 ratio so that they will fit a wide screen TV, believe this might be the way of the future. I'll be sending DVDs to my friends with commentary and hopefully background music if I manage to locate some legal royal... full info
