One of my first lessons learnt on this trip is to buy a city map wherever I go. Either that or listen to the bus drivers that give me advice. Got the 11 hour flight from Hong Kong to London and went throught the checks at Heathrow. I didn´t find it any hassle, just that the place is so large. As long as you follow the signs you don´t really have a worry. Eventually got on the BMI flight to Dublin, and had a giggle at the little round hat they make the hostesses wear. Surely someone in the style police has told them to change their ways... maybe. Finally made my way into Dublin, 12kg tied in the backpack (sorry folks, a play on a Beatles song). I've cancelled the paper, set the video to record all my shows (very important), and started to think about packing my bag. For those out there who aren't in the loop on my itinerary, I'll give a quick rundown. On Monday I fly to Hong Kong where I stay for two nights. Then on to Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, Avignon, Paris, Brugge, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dresden, Munich, Lucerne, Interlaken, Florence, and finally Rome. Hopefully, if all goes to plan, I'll be back in Brisbane on the 21st October and then back in Townsville that same night. There are a few things I need to get, ... read more
