The Irish have a navy??? That's my little known fact learnt for the day!
Seriously though, you've probably been there already, but get yourself to Jerash if you're no too ruined out. Also the Colosseum in Amman is great - and they will be deserted, no hawkers etc.
If you get down to Aqaba, I think its a fairly easy border crossing into Eilat. Going into the West Bank can apparently cause all sorts of confusion as Jordan still claims the West Bank for its own, the Palestinians have another idea and the Israelis have yet another, which can result in border complications - "where's your exit stamp?" etc.
Very jealous sitting here with my leg elevated as part of my RICE regime. Even worse that I'm back in work on Monday!
Greetings Great Beauty What a great blog and how fantastic does it all sound. Great keeping tabs of where you
e at and hearing about your adventures. Do you need anything yet? Miss you and bet that Syrian tea is way better than the cuppa at Hilliards.
How exciting! Hey you two! So cool to see the things you're doing - and it feels like you've only been gone for such a short while - so much more to see! Would love to see more photos of your journey and definitely need to hear more about the adventures of TMBWITW.

Nice work on the hustle Excellent stuff lads, we're defo going to get to Turkey eventually, hopefully when we get them into the Eurozone.
You'll have to read "Anabasis" ("Trip to the hills") all about a Greek army escaping through enemy territory in 400 BC, Written by the guy who got them out. Greatest adventure story ever. It'll also make you appreciate AC busses more!!
Great shots too.
All best, C'MON LEINSTER!
Education I just knew that Oxford education would come in handy some day - see you did learn how to play pool as well as add - oops sorry and subtract.

Wow!!! Hi guys (not sure if you get these msgs so will keep this brief!) wow your trip sounds amazing and I LOVE your photos one of you (or both) is a kick ass photographer!!! Your blog has inspired me to go to Turkey I have never been there but looks and sounds amazing. I know what you mean about all the travelling it does get tiring!
Well not much happening here. Oh apart from last wknd I went back to Mansfield for a 10 year reunion - can u believe it 10 yrs since starting. It was so much fun, not many people went (well as it worked out just people I like so that was good, Cath, Alex, both Gemmas, Simon, Rhys, Cath A, Nick, Abby H and Stephen Davis) my sides were hurting from laughing so much and do you know what people/things don't change do they? Which of course is nice!!! I spilt loads of port and got pissed out of my head as usual, so as I say nothing changes. lol.
I also started my masters at Manchester Uni, it is ace should of done it years ago, so things are good.
Be safe and happy travels,
love K

green with envy Howrya lads,
Brilliant work on the holidays within holidays! So good to party with you at the wedding. Back in the office now, planning on vicariously following you around some places I absolutely will visit before I'm too old to. As you know I'm a huge fan of all things ancient and falling down, you get more out of a place by knowing a little bit about it before so check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephesus soak up the history and take some Indiana Jones style action shots for me.
All best

Great Start to your adventure! Careful with those streile needles ... in some parts of the world it is used as currency and probably more valued than diamonds and you certainly don't want to poke the wrong person :-). Travel safe, stay safe. All the best, Dave
Kate R - Look out World! Great to hear from you. Istanbul sounds fabulous but not sure about you having a holiday in Spain! Look forward to hearing more from you soon. Take care, be safe, Kate x

Amazing Adventure Hi Niall and Dee, glad that you've started with the 1st steps of your adventure. Hope that it is mind blowingly amazing (in a not too messy way!). Have a wonderful wonderful time and we look forward to hearing more updates. We'll give you a wave as we fly past on the way to Nepal - Everest base camp trek starts on Thursday!
God Bless, Ed and Charli
Having both finished our jobs at the London Stock Exchange and JP Morgan in July, we plan to spend some time back in Ireland bothering our familes in August. Then in September our adventure starts in the Middle East on a trip from Istanbul to Cairo, then on to Nairobi for voluntary work with the Jamii Bora Microfinance Institute (http://www.jamiibora.org). From there we hope to travel to South Africa via Victoria Falls. Then a flight to India for a few months before travelling through China and some of South East Asia before a flight home. Phew - all of that in 12 months....
So to keep ... full info
