Just sent you an email. Glad to get some photos - - pl keep them coming! Ah yes, the gringos! My memory is on a bus for a San Miguel benefit house tour, and this big Texan in a cowboy hat was holding court and we had no way to escape! There are some great resonable little restaurants. One is at a very fine, hidden away hotel and it's outdoors around a pool with a view of the backside of the church - - perfect spot to see the sun set. I'll see if I still have the brochure. Also another is, if I remember correctly, northern italian, and in a beautiful colonial building that also had a gorgeous furniture/design store. If I find my SM stuff, I'll send you the sangria recipe from the forgery!

Hey guys! It is so nice to finally hear from you! I was so disappointed that I did not get to spend any time with you while you were here visiting the kids. They are doing great by the way! Randall has experienced his first girlfriend and break up, but is quickly moving on and has plans to ask a girl to a dance on Friday. He has acclimated himself to middle school very easily, and of course is getting banner grades. Becca had a rough start this year concerning harrassment from other girls, but of course, I have squashed that. Now she is moving on and doing very well. Angel just went to homecoming and had a terrific time. She enjoys school and is looking forward to getting her drivers permit. And what can I say about Sage? Well the boy is doing good in school, but getting him to clean himself up is like putting teeth! I guess he likes to be the stinky boy nobody wants to sit next to in class! Both boys have joined the cub scouts and boy scouts. They like it a lot and it gives them something to break up time in the middle of the week. Well, gotta go, I miss you all bunches, take good care of yourselves!

Sounds like fun.
HI Nancy and Dennis, Things are starting to get chilly here in Bend. The warmth of Mexico seems appealing. I'd love to hear some details of the delicious cuisine you are partaking of. We miss you here at OTE Nancy. Had my ultrasound yesterday...19 weeks and the baby looks wonderful. I'll forward the photo. Hugs, Crystal

You might not leave Argentina
Argentina has been my favorite country next to New Zealand. I need an escape. The skies are still smokey with fires near Sisters and the temperatures hot, leaving me wanting to move back to Bellingham. I return to work at COCC tomorrow. I hope I can stand it, although it has been a boring summer with no new job prospects. I enjoy sharing your adventures!

Not for me (sounds claustrophobic)
After those mining accidents in the US, no way! Also I could not witness the slaughtering of an animal. Still wishing I was in your backpack. I am getting very bored, running out of projects and trying to find some activities that are inexpensive. Glenn is hanging out taking care of issues as they arise and hoping to keep his job after September. It looks like another forest fire from the deck towards Sisters. The high temperatures has subsided. Stay Safe!

I was thinkign about you today and relaized that I hadn't seen an update in awhile. Glad to hear that all is going well - your trip has been such an event for those of us stateside - be careful now - there is a Red Alert level for travelers to the US - how much longer are you plannign to keep traveling? Hope the US weather is a little more inviting on your return than it has been over the past few weeks! love and miss you, Joanie

So nice and frightening!
The road you traveled remembers me of and old french movie with Yves Montand where he has to deliver dynamite to a mining place in south America in an old truck!. "le salaire de la peur" or something like that.It also made me think of a travel we did in France on the route Napoleon ; I was afraid each time we encountered another vehicle! I hope to see both of you soon and meet Denis! Enjoy and keep writing! Sylvie

You have more nerve than I
Your pictures and commentary are full of great details that I feel like I am right there with you both. I am too much a nervous nelly to handle that road. Glenn's driving makes me nervous, that is why we have a Volvo. Of course Glenn would have been right up there in front leading the group. We just finished a mountain bike ride around part of Waldo Lake. Although the mosquitos were troublesome, and the a few areas the trail was very narrow on a ledge, I could always get off my bike.

Do you guys plan on setteling in anywhere for an extended visit?
21st July 2006

Hi guys! Sounds like your having a great time! Same old stuff here, it's going to be 105 degrees this weekend. I'm heading to Colo with a girlfriend in Aug. and then heading out east to NJ on the 19th of Sept for my birthday parties, and then flying to Boston to join up with my friend Sandie, who lives in Portland, to stay at her parents in Kittery, Maine for a week of foliage and lobster. Can't wait. Are you buying textiles are just admiring? How's the food? When are you planning on coming back to C.O.? I thought you said Sept. but wasn't sure of the dates. Hope it's not while I'm gone. I have been thinking of having a big birthday bash here either before I leave or after. Sure would like to see you guys, if possible. Have a great trip, Love, Rozy

We will trade you places
Glenn had a great idea, you come back to Bend to take care of our house and we will travel for a few months. It might become a reality, as Glenn's company is going through layoffs and it is just the beginning unless new contracts are signed.
21st July 2006

Good planning to have three months!
You two are taking it all in and with plenty of time for the leisure pace. I have to laugh looking for warmer weather. It will be 102 in Bend this weekend. I am dreaming about snow. I would check out Paraquay. It is so much fun meeting other travelers. Argentina will be a culture shock in reverse. You got it right, start with the less developed countries and then adjust to the higher standards. The both of you will need to spend some time in Bend, so we can hear about all these wonderful adventures in person. Mi Casa Su Casa.
