Yay!! Thank you soooo much for the history class!! Not for me, cause I already knew heheh (I'm brazilian, I'm supposed to!), but for everyone that thinks we speak Spanish, live in jungles, walk around naked and the capital is Rio.. though the last one is somewhat understandable hehehe
anyways...hope u had a great time in my beloved and very missed country!! :)
This is my favorite entry so far... looks like so much fun! All the plants and animals look amazing, I still can't believe you're actually IN the Amazon jungle. And holding a sloth! The arachnid made me cringe, surprise surprise.
and p.s. i know some gators that you like! meagan and jessica!
misssss you!
you see!? that is why the French haven't won a war since Napoleon was around. 'do you think it can breathe?' please. it's a gator, who cares if it can breathe. GO DAWGS!!
Greetings Great insight to river travel on the Amazon. We are in Peru at the moment and are heading down to Manaus in a few weeks on boats. Hope the rest of your travels go well.

your trip sounds absolutely amazing! i'm so glad you're keeping this journal... although it makes me EXTREMELY jealous (to the point that i actually put off reading it). and another thing--i totally support your decision to abandon the job search!! now remember your reasons and don't give in! cuídate!

bumba meu boi when i was in manaus they have a festival called Boi Bum Ba. i wonder if they are one in the same. if you go to manaus right near the teatro amazonas there is a hotel called 11 de maio or something like that. not expensive and there is a ecoturism group in the lobby. those are the guys that organized my trip into the amazon. also you should look into getting the boat that goes from manaus to belem, where the amazon river meets the ocean. if you want a couple of people to show you around manaus let me know i know some gente ai.
King Dear Andy,
Wish I could have stayed at the funky castle with you. I hope that you are having the time of your life- we are all thinking about you every day!

Even if you were robbed, I'm still incredibly jealous. Most of your pictures have made their way into my screen saver slide show. I'll just pretend I'm there!
envy! You're an idiot. You should've been wearing all your boxers at once. Good luck with the job search, and if you can't find anything soon, maybe you should check out America... where we have police men and the English language. Miss you!
A plan? You should go find the "Cats" tour...Stan will be in Sao Paulo from the 8th to the 27th, then Rio from the 29th to September 3rd. I mean, what are the odds y'all are in the same place at the same time? You should check it out...
In other news, I am loving your updates! I wish I could be there when you get to Argentina!!
nucking futs man who has the balls to rob a guy with a mohawk? oh wait, you're a gnome, i forgot. that's insane though dude, very very nice cover with the passport/camera bag within-a-bag. most people have to practice to be that sexy smooth. or at least buy some lotion or something.
imperialism indeed that's hilarious! can you name any of the countries in the world that DON'T have a mcdonald's? there are more than you might think...
glad to hear it sounds like you're doin well so far buddy--keep on rockin :P
that's amazing ... it seems that you are having an excellent time. i'm happy for you ... and a little jealous. wish i were randomly travelling right now. :)
peace.

Go north!!! Just spent an awesome evening with MonkeyBoy, drinking Caipirinhas and Caipeta (or something like that..?). We will miss our personal guide and translater, and we are thankful cause now we know never to wear Caprii-pants.
