detail Guys - I really appreciate the detail in the reports: height of trees, dimensions of turtle sand box, speed of boat, number of outboard motors, etc. These are the kinds of things to which I would also pay attention. Also appreciate the sober reflection re the dubious durability of the culture. Best wishes for good trails.

We just returned from a month on the East coast - USA, that is - and, although not at all as exciting as your trip sounds, exciting nonetheless.
I'm ALWAYS struck by the wonderful colors, smiling folks and activity of the marketplaces....regardless of where we might happen to be. BUT, I'm convinced that nothing compares to the markets in Central and South America. LOVE the ethnicity. Keep the blog coming - good to hear from you. Are you thinking about making a "permanent" move to Ecuador? Would you have room for a visitor or two, if in fact you decide to live there?

Buen pregunta amigos Si vivamos en la ciudad usamos taxi, autobus y pies. Caminando es bueno para su espiro y salud. SI vivamos en suburbio y viaje otras paises mucho, usamos una carro para larga distancia y viajes. Taxis y autobus para locales. Compremos una Toyota 4 runner para montanas y caminos malos.

We are a non working (retired sounds so boring)couple, in our early 70's, married for 50 years this coming August 2014 and hooked on adventuring. We have traveled a great deal of the world from Europe (east and west) to Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Mexico and Central America. We lived for extended periods of time in Ethiopia, The Czech Republic, Mexico and Scotland. As you can see, we have a lot more exploring, adventuring and learning to do.
