Bikram Yoga Hey Mark:
Sounds like the Bikram Yoga was a good preparation to get ready for your trip! Are you engaging in any of the postures on your Bishop's deck or at the Cathedral perhaps - could add a new twist to a homily!
Glad to hear things are going well, keep the reports coming!
Cheers,
Gregor
Fantastic! Hello Jonathan - Hello Mark - My question regarding the religious demographics of the Seychelles has been answered. Thank you. Jonathan, your project is very interesting and helpful for those of us who are just learning about the Seychelles for the first time. I had heard about the country for years, but never really stopped to think about what it is really like. You are, I am sure, having a great time and will have lots of great stories to report to your classmates and friends upon your return. Enjoy every minute of your trip! Looking forward to seeing more of your photos in due course.
superbe essay well I would just like to say that that was an amazing essay, well i just had to leave a comment! oh yes and dad please get a better pic of me!...good stuff your blog.
hope your having fun in the Seychelles
Have a wonder-filled time! Hi Mark
How good to hear from you! I leave for Malawi in 13 days, so have some idea of how much excitement/harried-ness you may be experiencing. I have such good memories of MOC time spent together. May you and your family have a joyous and inspiring time together.
Scripture Scholar Available For Tropical Treats Mark, are you sure you can handle all of this? I know a great bunch of CPE trained (albeit partially) chaplains who would love to give you a hand! . . . It sounds great! What is the predominant religion of locals? Did you run into any Catholics yet? I am sure they'd love to have a resident scripture scholar! I can think of one who would be ready to leave everything to preach the word of God . . . as well as sipping her pineapple cocktail under a palm tree . . . (afterall, if it was good enough for judge Deborah!) I am sure she could justify the lifestyle!
Bonzour tou bann kanadyen en Sesel Hi Mark: I read your post about your first impressions and must confess I am jealous. Please say hello to Tiana, Christine, John and all. Are there still tortoises at the Bishop's house?
I know you will enjoy your stay in paradise! Make sure you take lots of pictures...
John
A different summer! It sounds like you will be spending a summer very different than your last one. I'm very interested to hear your comments and to see the snapshots. I'm looking forward to hearing about your work.
Nice spot! Sounds like a great opportunity. I have been further south to Mauritius, Reunion and Madagascar - and if the Seychelles is anything like those idyllic locations, you and the family should be in for a treat!
The Hudsons send greetings! Mark, we're thrilled to be able to receive your journal and I'm glad to have "met" your family. What a vibrant bunch! Too bad they weren't with us in Toronto.
The Seychelles sound quite interesting with the diverse ethnic mix. May the Lord bless you and give you some wonderful ministry opportunities in that unique setting.
Our visas for India just arrived, so we are finally entering our last stages of preparation. Mary is finishing up school, our house is sold, and we'll be moving out from here soon. How hard is it to set up these blogs?
Grace and Peace!
We're on our way! I've been in Belize since May 4, and Nick arrived on the 14th. He is staying at my boarding house for three days, for an orientation here in Belize City with the Bishop. I am assigned to a church in Belize City, where I assist with all services, teach a bible study, a confirmation class, preach, give the address at school worship and am acting in a chaplaincy role at the nearby hospital. So far it has been a wonderful experience. Looking forward to your updates! Janice
Wow! Mark,
This is going to be fascinating following your progress. It will allow us to share somewhat in an unbelivable opportunity and experience as you describe it. Thanks for taking the time to allow us a glimpse into your journey.
My vote is for sychronicity and providence!
(More comments when I return from Greece.)
May your journey be blessed in all aspects!!
Kathy
Godspeed Godspeed to all the Whittalls as you set out on your missionary voyage. Looking forward to seeing all of your pics. It is a wonderful opportunity - enjoy!
