So what can we say about Los Angeles that hasn’t been written about or commented on a million times over? Well, we found it quite interesting. We got the bus up from San Diego. Back Again :-) So we’re in LA at the moment and we just remembered that we haven’t added anything to the blog about San Diego. It just shows you we were having too much fun enjoying it to write about it! San Diego was really really cool. It had such a relaxed holiday vibe and it was so easy to get around using public transport. Once again the Luas and Dublin Bus are put to shame.... Well we made it down to San Diego in one piece! We rented a car in San Francisco and drove down the coast. We got a lovely Toyota Prius in the end after they tried to send us off in a Pontiac with no petrol! We weren't having any of that! We took Highway 1 down the coastline, despite advice that highway 101 would get us there quicker. The advice was on the money, but we were so glad we didn't follow it! So i’m writing this blog on the way down highway 1 while Gareth is driving. We left San Fran yesterday morning (Monday) on our way down the coast towards San Diego. San Fran was so cool. Had a fab time staying with Lynne and Ken and they were way too nice to us! Great Irish community there so we really felt at home propping up the bar at the Shannon Arms. So Vegas then.. What a crazy place! New York is known as the city that never sleeps. . . Vegas is the city that only sleeps during the day! The place only starts to get going at midnight at the earliest + they do breakfast up to 10 at night most places.. some with 24 hour breakfasts! Lunacy. A place unlike any other we've seen so far. Between $1 Margaritas (for Gareth) and $2 beers (for Lynsey), you could still go drinking on the cheap if you want to without gambling your years budget away for free drinks in the casino.
