It was a beautiful rehearsal and dinner. All the plans were put into place if it is pouring rain...which it very well could be according to the weather reports. I don't want to share many details of the rehearsal and dinner until after the wedding but the group of friends and family participating in the wedding ceremony are wonderful and they are all having such a good time. The flight from Chicago to San Francisco went smooth with only a few bumps in the air. We hit one small bump going through security in Chicago. I had made and packed the candles for the wedding and they were in one of the carry ons. Did you know that candles give the same blimp in the security system as an explosive device. I know now! The suitcase was unpacked. The plastic ziploc bags that contained the candles all had to be tested. Thank goodness I had packed all of the candles on one side of the suitcase so that the whole thing didn't have to be unpacked. And we had a cushion of time to get to the gate so all was well. Tuesday: arrival and dinner Sarah and I arrived at La Guardia after a rather bumpy flight. We headed to our bed and breakfast, Sterling Bed Breakfast, and got settled in. The B&B was about 6 blocks from Jay's apartment...just a hop, skip and a jump in NY terms. The B&B was lovely. We had the only room in use on our floor. It had all stained wood for the moldings and door frames. Our room looked out onto the little garden patio in back where breakfast would be served weather permitting. We gathered at Jay's apartment and did a quick tour of the Prospect Heights area of Brooklyn in which he lives while we waited for Emily to arrive from work.
