We're English born and bred. One northern Monkeh and a southern bird ready to travel and see the sights and sounds of Oz.

On the final countdown now to departure date and cant believe its come around finally.

We flying out the day after boxing day (after all the leaving parties and christmas fun) and plan to let our hair down down under and meet some like minded people on our way.

We land ready for NYE, Bondi Beach is planned so far for ny celebrations but we'll see where the wind takes us really. We have a year planned to spend in Oz.

Coff Harbour - NSW Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Coffs Harbour

Coffs Harbour is a little busier than the other towns and we have booked into a nice socialable hostel. Think we'll probably spend tomorrow on the beach and around the town and then the next morning do another long stretch to Byron bay! We're both really excited about Byron Bay and Brisbane and the gold coast - mainly because we've been to that many towns where its all a little quiet (still reeeeally nice and picturesque though) but we're craving to meet other travellers and socialise a bit more. Wollognong and the new home on wheels! :-) Oceania » Australia » New South Wales » Wollongong

It was probably the poor weather and lack of good choice of campsite and non exsistant nightlife that we were not prepared for after being in the hustle and bustle of sydney but we weren't impressed with wollognong which a small seaside town just south of sydney and right at the last minute decided we wanted to travel north towards the east coast where it is always sunny etc. Spur of the moment thing which probably (now we're way to far north to turn around) was not a good idea as we will hit rainy season when we get to north [View Full Entry]

Haven't blogged in so long as it is difficult to find an internet site when you are on the road or staying in the 'bush'. We have been to blue mountains from sydney which was absoutely beautiful, the sceenery was amazing but the campsite was poor. We thought it was good but according to a couple we met and got chatting to, they had travelled from the north coast and thought that this campsite was the worst one they had been to, hopefully this means they will get better. NYE waiting for fireworks!!
So much fun - catching a tan and talking to people sat practically on your lap - drinking pop that taste like wine and coke that taste like it had vodka in it! lol. stuff the drinking laws!

Sydney NYE - Absoutely amazing day and night. Sitting around waiting for the fireworks, chatting and having a laugh. Then the first lot came at 9pm (I thought they were amazing enough). The midnight fireworks made me cry!!! Hee, love it. [View Full Entry]
