How envious am I you all look to be having a great time. Keep in mind your poor friends in Hervey Bay and have a drink for us but most of all have a . ball John making slow progress ---- eating being the main problem. Love and hugs to all. Annie
Weather has been kind to us. Quite strenuous though and you definitely need 4 people with a boat this size. Pleased John is improving. Love to you both. Xo
French locks are manned and automated so that makes it much easier but I would say on a boat this size, you definitely need several strong and able people to hold the ropes in the lock. Fun so far. Xo
Wow Looks amazing capt Jules, and job well done. Boat looks nice and comfy love it. I'm sure you are having the most exciting time ever! You deserve it!! Xx
France Delighted to see that you overcame the barriers imposed by Ryan*******Air and had a good flight with EasyJet (we've found them quite good). Looking forward to hearing about Carcassonne - those French old walled towns really are quite something. Guess you'll be exploring the wonderful world of French fixed price menus over the couple of days before you hit the canal - and there is also all that wine to explore. Have a great time!
Pub: Dog & Duck Checked out the website for the pub. Food menu looked quite good - not like the old days in most pubs where all you could get was a Ploughman's Lunch or a "smiling" cheese sandwich. However, the best bit was looking at the photos of the beer taps. This ageing Essex Boy was delighted to see Greene King Abbot Ale and also the IPA; brings back memories of a very misspent youth! No fancy Swedish ciders in those days.
Hi Mike, yes the house is beautiful. A cross between Downton Abbey and Hogwarts in Harry Potter. Difficult to maintain though as it has heritage building restrictions so you are limited in the changes or repairs that you can make. ?
Amazing Artist What beartiful pictures!! Must have been amazing to watch. Did you bid on any? Did you win any? Did you get to attempt a channelled painting?
Keep up the good work.
Love to you both!!!
Liverpool St Station In the 60s I used to regularly take the train from home in Chingford to Liverpool St; bet it has all changed now, especially with the work done for the new Crossrail Underground station. There used to be a pub near the station where you could have a drink - as long as you didn't mind standing on the sawdust that was used to soak up dropped beer (and blood!).
