Another road trip, this time only 4 hours long, and mainly along the coast which gave us a glimpse of a different way of life, with fish farms, lots of fishing boats - and most fascinating of all, the fishermen casting their nets from coracles. We had a few stops along the way: a fantastic viewpoint, ‘marble mountain’ where they sculpture statues, and my favourite China Beach, which was a beautiful beach with endless golden sand. Unfortunately the red flags were flying, so we only had a paddle. China Beach is where the Americans used to go for R&R. Our hotel in Hoi An is lovely, and best of all it has a pool.
