Just left Cairns after 5 nights but had a really good time there. Cairns is quite a small country town, not too modern but lots of bars, restaurants and it has a lovely esplande and lagoon. Spent a couple of days lounging around the lagoon, its right by the sea but nicer water and no sand!!! chilled out by the lagoon with a paper. Hi all, We are currently in Alice Springs after a very adventurous couple of days and time in the outback here in australia. We left Perth on Friday, was an absolutely amazing place. Great lifestyle out there and the aussies are very laid back! No dramas!!! Had a sad g'bye at the airport but we had to move on to the next leg of our travels. We flew from Perth to Ayers Rock, only a couple of hours....1hr 30mins time difference, so now we are 8 1/2 hours ahead of home. A brief update of Perth...had some really good times so far in Oz. Went to a great casino in the city, Chris doesnt have a gambling problem. I gambled 20 bucks on a roulette table, walked away with 130 bucks after a lucky win on number 29. woohu!! chris came over with a $2.50 chip from the black jack table...he said to put it on my lucky roulette table...stuck it on number 18, it had come up a few times and is my lucky numeber....18 on the nose, and what comes up!! Hi all, its been a few days! Was good to arrive in Oz, landed at 2pm on Thursday! Lisa met us with Jayden in arrivals. Was really good to be somewhere with a sense of normality! had a lovely welcome with a barbie with lisa, steve, declan, lola and jayden. The next day we had a morning tea round lisa's friends house, massive cakes and cappacinos. Been spoilt ever since landing here! Yesterday we planned to visit the infamous Raffles hotel....got very lost once off the MRT (tube equivalent) But eventually found the hotel and headed to long bar as recommended. here they provide monkey nuts and u chuck the shells on the floor! felt uneasy doing it!! lol. such a posh place. had a couple of singapore slings....really good. william (manager of our hostel that we are staying at) said it is impossible to copy! i have got the recipe, will have to give it a go!! dan nearly fainted when we got the bill......50odd singapore dollars.....20 quid for 2 drinks :-) [View Full Entry]

Hi all, Have now left Samui and we are in Singapore. We both really loved Koh Samui, lovely surroundings, people, bars, restaurants and atmosphere. A breath of fresh air after Bangkok... On our last night at Samui was Pompey's 1st UEFA game, we thought it would be on at 2am though so thought we'd bedda give it a miss due to flying out the next day. Hope you enjoyed my previous essay, had a bit of blog catching up to do!! now i am on top of it :-) Today we woke up and as usual headed to breakfast at our hotel all bleery eyed and susing out the dishes on offer. Ok so first full day we decided to see the sights of Bangkok, we had a lovely breakfast at our hotel.....dan had some cereal and fruit, I of course had to go straight in for the hot stuff, omlette cooked freshly by a chef right in front of us....was good. Caught the sky train to Siam Square, looked around Siam and visited Siam Paragon, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs....window shopping!!! Ok, trying out this travel blog thing to keep you all informed of our travels!! easier than repeating the same email to everybody! but please do email and message us aswell!!! love to hear from u guys from back home. so from home, our flight was 11 hours to Bangkok from Heathrow. Good flight went pretty quick!!! Had a meal, slept and woke up with only 1 hr and a half to go!
