You are amazing Wish we could send you a care package! So glad you ran into the Canadian girls and they shared their stash with you. It is so beautiful.
sometimes I dont get white people This is crazy and fascinating. Depressing yet exciting. I'd love to do maybe a day or two of this. But two days without talking/seeing anyone would drive me nuts. "At the end of August I had 2 days where I didn’t run into a single person in 48 hours. You wouldn’t believe how fresh the air felt and how blue the sky was." I never expected the second sentence to come after the first. I expected drama to follow that. Safe travels mate!
it used to be just such.. In soviet times most bikes didn't have any wires :) this has one for back wheel hand brakes, and seems new. But what we had mostly was no gears and the only brakes were when you push pedals backwards (i am sure this has that too), it would immediately stop turning back wheel. Of course, i can't imagine it for the long trip, but who knows, may be smbd tried that too :) It was durable bikes and even i knew how to fix most things:)
Thank you Sir the roads of traveling have been paved in gold for me. the experience of a lifetime. i feel so lucky. thank you for your kind words. wishing you the best
Great to see you blogging again... I thought you might have had a terrible accident crossing Central Asia...I've followed other bikers whose blogs just end in the middle of no where which left me wondering. I'm looking forward to the rest of your blogs. My Silk Road trip in April also ended in Central Asia...Uzbekistan.
knock on wood no accident so far!
but have been extremely busy and enjoying my trip so much... spending time on line is not as enticing as cycling up the mountains and dancing with Kyrgyz people! More to come though! take care and thank you for your kind messages
You are an adventurer explorer Going where few men have gone and enjoying the tranquility. Love following your blog and eager for the next installment. Fantastic life experiences and would have loved to see the video of you clucking like a chicken. Happy travels.

Hey ! The idea of cycling around in Xinjiang sounds so great. I'm going to Urumqi for about five days later this week. I see you had some people following you in the Uyger areas of the city. I'm an Indian woman, and i intended to walk around on my own. You think its unsafe in Urumqi?
I am a 36-year old language teacher, currently working in Beijing. I was born in France but China has been my home for many years. I taught French and English in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, for 6 years. I never thought I would stay in China for such a long time but it’s been an amazing experience! Professionally speaking, teaching Chinese students is extremely rewarding. They are so hard-working and eager to learn new things. And then China… there aren’t enough words to describe this intricate (hence fascinating) country.
“China is not to be liked or disliked: i... full info
