You may recall the craze we had in North America for building bomb shelters. Seems other countries had similar ideas long before atomic bombs came along. Based on your photos, it is hard to image 10,000 people living in that space for too l ong.
As usual, great photos thus allowing me to be a virtual traveller.Working and living in monasteries is not for the weak - they tend to be cool, damp places - great to look at, but not to live in.
Once again you have a great set of photos!! I really like the picture of the the Old Mill Stream and as for the winding of the clock, you look so different John!!Hope the weather is as niceas it looks.
