Friday 6th February, so exciting to plan so scary to do! What a strange feeling at the airport. Friends taking me to the airport and seeing me off. Lex and Lauren feeling happy for me but sad also and all of us doing a great job of not saying what is in our heads and hearts. Such a good job in fact that at 9a.m. Lauren asked when I should go through to the departure gate. The flight was due to take off at 9.15a.m. and I hadn’t even been through security or immigration or more importantly - duty free! We all ran to the gate and I was through security in an instant while I listened to my name being called over the loud speakers. There was only just time for a quick hug with ... read more

And the things that are important like memories and friends are never really lost even if you leave them. Oh dear, enough of this deep and meaningful stuff!. Take a look at the shed and how good I am at packing, missed my calling perhaps. Thank you dear Lee and Kerry for your very kind words. I have plenty of room to take your gift with me! ... read more

Hi everyone, Well this is the start of Something Big, as the song goes. I am now beginning to feel that this is really going to happen and I am filled with a mixture of excitment like never before and apprehension. As I have been packing all my belonging into the shed at the bottom of the garden (Lex says that I would be a killer Tetras player) I am asking myself what I will have experienced and how may I have changed when I again see these personal belonging. When will I begin unpacking them again and will they have the same meaning to me? I have been ruthless in my chucking out and it's funny how good it feels, like shedding an unwanted skin. Although I did inadvertantly throw away the cord that I ... read more
