The flight over was great, helped immensely by the arsenal of electronic entertainment we brought along. We spent a couple of hours in Rouen, seeing the Cathedral of Notre Dame there and the site of Joan of Arc’s martyrdom. The difference between Normandy and Paris in the amount of English spoken is very noticeable.
