Lisa you are a babe on the beach. I'm so glad you two are doing this...not only becuase I'm selfish and living vicariously through you (so andy- get those fingers back to work!). Please don't get bitten by any sharks. That would be beat. Lisa I hope your bday was special- and all your days to come top the one before. Looks like you're doing it. I miss your smiling face and giggling. Be careful and enjoy!!!! Love you both- M
YO!!! Great pics. I can't wait to see you. Crazy Gus wants to come now...we are going to Rock that place..let me know. E-mail me and let me know...we'll find our own accomodations, so don't worry about that. But want to go check out the animals.
Miss you,
Love Rene
What a fantastic beginning!! Sounds and looks like you're having a great time, so jealous!!! The pictures are awesome, love reading all about your adventure. Enjoy!!!!!!!
costa rica greetings world travelers...or should i say traveling beer drinkers? Kristi and i have been in Costa Rica for a week now...we needed to do a little Central American investigation before your arrival...we are happy to report Costa Rica is amazing. the fishing is outstanding as we bagged 5 yellow fin tuna (average 18 lbs) and a 40lb rooster fish the other morning. The golf course here at the Four Seasons is spectacular and after a 6yr absense from the game and 1 quick lesson im happy to report im hooked. Apparently wearing a glove and swinging unlike you are attempting murder has positive effects on one's game...i par'd 4 of the first 9 holes and only lost 1 ball. Playing golf while being interrogated by white faced monkeys and howler monkeys is unique to say the least. I've made a local friend down here who owns Father Roosters (a jimmy buffett/bob marley type beach bar near Playa Hermosa)...i havent been to the bar as its a boat ride away but i've secured you jobs there should you need them. Kris and i are thinking of buying a place here and i looked at several options yesterday (dont worry we'll have a guest room/house). I must say the people and the place are as advertised...pure vida. i am hearing bad things about Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala (lots of crime, etc). Panama however is very cool according to the Ticos (locals) here...they are friendly neighbors and Panana is a short drive from Penninsula Papaguayo where we are. surfing at Witches Rock is 30 mins away by boat but i havent made it there yet. ok well i need to hit the gym (bar) and office (beach) for a bit before my meeting (golf game) late this afternoon. oh Bill Gates is here too...i've left word for him that we need to have a quick chat...perhaps he wrote my # down incorrectly cause i havent heard back from Billy since Tuesday. Pale faced basta*d. enjoy your African experience...we'll meet you somewhere along the way. going back to civilzation tomorrow to reunite w Kaya Belle and the mutts. Somehow i think retirement is sooner than anticipated. a week or so like this really makes you think...
one love,
KL

Two New Yorkers (one native, one South African) who decided to put our ¨normal¨ lives on hold for about a year and see the world. Without much of an agenda, we quit our jobs, gave up our apartment, and left behind all but what we could fit into two backpacks in hopes of expanding our minds, broadening our horizons, and possibly creating a new sense of normal for ourselves. We hope you enjoy reading about our travels.
