Merry Christmas!` Hi guys! Your trip sounds sooo awesome! I mean really who goes to South America and while camping and traveling with no real address looks up online cameras to have shipped to her?! I hope you guys had an awesome untraditional Christmas. *hugs*
Christmas Eve Sounds like your adventure is living up to expectations. We're going to miss not having you around for Christmas. We may even have a white Christmas here in Boise this year. Snowed about an inch today. Jared and I were going to go to Twin to see Nomi, but it was snowing sideways this morning, so we bagged out.
Keep in touch as often as possible.
Merry Christmas and be safe!
I wish I was there! Guys,
Thanks for the great blogs. It is kind of like having a small part of me on vacation in South America. Have a great Christmas and New Years. Emily told you about the rain but forgot to mention the upside...20" of snow on the hikll in the last 24 hours and a base of 90" at mid mountain. It's going to be opne of the best years for snow ever! (but I'd trade you) Merry Christmas...
sorry about the camera I'll share the photos with Ken. And, have a Merry Christmas!!! Kellan has been home since end of November. Kali, almost one week. Her boyfriend Jordan has been here too. Pretty warm here right now - at least 40 degrees. We're headed to a hockey game tonight. Be safe!
Stay! Stay! Don't come home!! Keep rolling until you feel like you're going to lose it if you see another a) spider-infested outhouse b)churro c) up-close of Matt's gnarly dreads. Then go see a movie by yourself. You'll feel much better afterwards. No return ticket needed.
It's gonna be along time before you can do this again and right now it's pouring rain and 42 degrees in Portland. Keep traveling! Go! Go! Go!
Matt, you stinky, smelly hippie! Thanks for the updates, that sucks to hear about your camera! Waffle day sounds awesome, i can't wait for tomorrow (thursday) to celebrate it with you guys in spirit! And if you happen to have conflicting schedules that won't allow you to get back to N.O. by March 11th, I've been looking for an excuse to quit my job as well!
Hey ya'll Sounds like things are going good. It's been bellow freezing all week...don't you miss winter? :) Julia should have the baby in about 3 weeks! Keep up the entertaining blogs and stay safe!
too Funny not to tell....... Hey---funny story---Matt might not like it but Elyse and all who know Matt will love it!!!! We sent a Redfish picture to Grandma and Grandpa for their Christmas letter. Johanna and Jade couldn't believe how different Jared looked. As they were examining the photo, trying see "Jared", Jade pointed to Matt and said "Who's the freak?" Gotta love it!!!!!! She doesn't know Matt but sees his true character :o)
Matt's fishing Wow, only 1 wopper in South America. I can't imagine how humbling it must be for Mr. Matt not to catch fish! Keep up the good work. Your travels sound great. Thanks for letting me travel with you vicariously. good luck! rhh
Esquel As you proceed south don't miss Rio Rivadavia near Esquel in the Park. It is were the Disney crew got inspired to draw the forestt for "Bambi". Really a beautiful river and rare forest. You can catch rainbow, brown, and some Sebago Atlantic Salmon ( big, like in the Traful). Keep and eye out for the river otters, they are the biggest on the planet ( 4-5 ft long). Also, check out the Futalafu river( called the Rio Grande in Argentina) near the Chilian border. Nice fishing, great whitewater!. Chaitian Beckons
Sounds fun glad to hear you are both well and that Matt caught a fish. I can't even beging to imagine how his lip would be dragging on the ground if that hadn't happened. It snowed here this morning---love it! Can't wait to see pictures. Be careful! e
Hospital Trips? Matt and Elyse...that's quite a hook..."There haven't been any more hospital trips. I hope you guys are doing great and have a wonderful Christmas. We all have been daydreaming about your trip. Thanks for the blogs...travel safe!
Wow, hell of a trip so far!! So, it is nice that work is slow today, I just was able to read every blog posted so far. It sounds like you two are having a killer time. I can't wait to hear more. Take care and I'll hoist a beer in your honor at Sause's place on Saturday when the Beavs beat the Ducks!
Sounds like fun! Hey thanks for the updates (I even understood most of yours, Matt :o). Sounds you are having a fantastic time--I want to go now. We are going to go join a gym today so maybe we can get in "climb to the top of very tall mountains shape". All is well here---Thanksgiving was nice and fairly quiet for a Dodson gathering---sounds like the Gibson gathering was pretty quiet too----guess that shows who the LOUD people are----they are in South America. Glad there are no more swollen feet and fat ankle (that's just gross) stories--- Be carful and keep having fun---- Later!
Sounds great I'm a little behind on getting into these comments. Your trip sounds fantastic. I agree with Erin that there was a surprise that Elyse was the first one in need of medical care. Love the pics. We are off to our first T-Day with out kids. Only 5 adults. We will miss you crabbing and carousing! Love, M
