Great article I love Bologna, but so few people know it here. I enjoyed your photos particularly the one of the red blinds. I am doing an artist's book about Bologna so I will probably be visiting your blog again for inspiration.
true dat Too much work IS bad for the brain! Soo true, and something tells me they didnt even need cubicles to come up with that knowledge! I liked the blog more than the pictures on this one. More pictures next time please! :)
Enjoyment Dear Ellen, once more you are providing us arm chair travelers with astonishing descriptions of places you visit, By adding just enough private thoughts it really makes it interesting, just keep it up and we will be forever grateful...A Friend Bob Lee
P.S. be sure notice change in e-mail address.
plan to be here some day! Glad you had fun! I had visited KL, but missed on the islands as there was a tourist scare that they were being kidnapped in the islands!!!
Bon Voyage! Hey Ellen! Best of luck on your travels - sounds like you're gonna have a great time! Looking forward to hearing about them - keep in touch! See you for that pint sometime!
WOW! Ellen, what timing! I was rereading one of the journals I kept while in Nepal, and I wondered about you. Best wishes for another exciting journey. Ida
Flags Hi Maynesy- so how many flags are on your backpack at this stage of your trip? Surely one or two after five days away! One country doesn't just mean one flag by the way.
A clear sign I have been addicted to travel blog for too long- I follow your entire adventures around the world... You come home, work, settle down, and leave again, and I am still reading about your travels. Good luck!
things in motion Wow, so its really happening! That should be fun. Did you make much money in the stall sale of your belongings?! ha ha. I guess Ill be seeing you in Cambodia in December?
LA LA Land Yes, LA is a completely different place filled with good times and bad. Nice writing, kept me reading the entire time, even though I live here. :-) I do wish that backpackers got to see a little more of LA then just Santa Monica, Venice, and Hollywood. Definitely not as cool as Melbourne.
Nice Stuff Your blog feels like the exact same type of writing as on mine. Funny, informational with links, and yet a nice personal touch of your own. Great photos too. Too bad I didn't know you were in Melbourne while I was there, or I'd had shaken your hand. I'll have to revisit Te Papa and see that helmet, hilarious! Sweet As! Nice Blog!
Thanks! Hi Denis and Vera - Thanks for your comments. I'm back in Melbourne at the moment - so haven't been checking my blog very often! Too bad I didn't get to catch up with either of you whilst in Tullow. Ellen
Belgium isnt THAT bad Hello, i stumbled upon your blog while trying to study and i couldnt help but try stand up for Belgium! Your opinion on Brussels is understandable, as you mentioned it is dirty and touristy, and really just lacks any vibe. And ppl in Brussels (and Brussels alone) seem to be a bit pompous because they are the capital and such and such (you know how it is). You unfortunatley missed out on Leuven, an enthralling town. It's old town is small and easy to get around, but jam packed with life. It has a dominating student population and is filled with awesome bars and stuff. The people (being mostly students) are also much more friendly and fun. So next time you're in Belgium, go to Leuven, sink some 11% beer and have a great time! I also agree, Stockholm is one of my most favourite cities in Europe.
I'm an Aussie girl who's mad about travel! Me and my pack have covered lots of ground over the past few years ....
