Alright, you ready??? this is cool. Oscar, from the CIS, who knows more about El Salvador, in terms of cool grassroots stuff, than anyone else on the planet, took us up to a coffee collective, called El Cooperativo San Antonio. They are connected with CIS because several youth from the collective are recipients of CIS´s scholarship program. The collective is made up of 57 members, who collectively own the land. During the 9 months of coffee growing and harvesting season, they also employ other peeps. They are growing coffee and oranges, and have just started using part of thier land for an ecotourism project, consisting of what, i do not know.
