We arrived in Bogota expecting the warmth of the Colombia summer, only to be greeted by similar temperatures to BA. Neither of us had realised the altitude of Bogota - approx 2000 metres above sea level - and were therefore shivering in our flipflops/thongs and flimsy summer clothing. With Stu kindly converting the local currency into pounds for Poppy, we tried to barter down the airport taxi and head off to the hostel. After piling on a few more layers, we went off to explore the city for a few hours. We visited plazas, cathedrals, museums, markets and even an Andy Warhol exhibition - and soon found ourselves falling in love with Colombia.
