Hello All Apologies for neglecting my blog for a while. Jaime is writing a blow by blow account on what’s been happening daily in his diary, take a look at his blog under nickname ‘Aber’ or search for ‘Jaime Kedgkey’ for a detailed description, but below is a quick summary of events to date: Its Sunday the 13th September, we are full of expectations after setting off at 3am for Leeds/Bradford airport. After a yet another heart-wrenching goodbye from my mom who droves us to the airport, we head to the baggage check-in. The flight to Malaga is uneventful, o [View Full Entry]

Its time to dust off our Backpacks!! I'm so excited. Nothings concrete as usual with us, but it looks like we are heading of to volunteer in the Sierra Nevada foothills for around 6 weeks in September. We will be staying on an Organic Farm just outside of a village called Lanjaron. The farm has 4 wonderful casita's and the pictures look simply amazing. Our host has some great reviews from previous Wwoof'ers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) so we are really looking forward to our time with her. The farm is set amidst some great hiking opportunities and there are [View Full Entry]

Hello Everyone! well it seems like an awfully long time since our trip to New Zealand now. We have been in the UK since January of this year and are itching to get away again. Various reasons have stopped us so far including ill health and the all important penny or two. However, new plans have been made and it looks like we are going to be doing some volunteer work in some hot sunny country in August. Confirmation to follow :). Hope your all keeping well, be great to hear what everyone’s been up to. Take care xxd & J [View Full Entry]

Day 66 to 68 Oceania » New Zealand
Day 66 West to Marocopa Its 2009! Well it is for us, you guy’s are 11 hours behind and have yet to leave 2008 behind. So happy New Year to come everyone! We’ve spent the day exploring the Waitomo Cave region and had some fun getting very wet and muddy. First we ventured onto the Watomo Bushwalk, a beautiful walk through bush (obviously) with a river gorge and some cool caves thrown in. I was having a brave day and decided to venture deep into the caves (with Jaime holding my hand of course) and then waded through a freezing cold [View Full Entry]

So that was our adventure in sunny NZ. We are now back home and I have slept for 18 hours straight. The journey home was not fun, but I loved seeing all those amazing airports of Sydney, Bangkok and Dubai again. Hope we actually get to stop at some of them on our next travels. I am staying at moms for a few days which is lovely and very comfortable after our two months of camping. For all my friends who are in close reach, don’t forget that I am now unemployed, twiddling my thumbs and cant wait to catch up [View Full Entry]

And a happy new year! Oceania » New Zealand
Day 63 Three Volcano’s We’ve arrived in Whakapapa. A small Ski Village which takes in three stunning volcano’s all nestled into National Park - Mount Ngauruhoe, Tongariro and Mount Ruapehu - which some of you may know as Mount Doom from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. - All in all, a pretty cool place to be. We decided to undertake a guided crater walk on Mount Ruapehu. Ruapehu reaches an impressive 2672m and is a very active volcano with snow covered slopes and a steaming crater lake at the top. The last eruption took place in September 2007, but we [View Full Entry]

Day 44 to 54 A bit of a blur Hello there Am sorry to say that we have just experienced the must un-exiting part of our trip to date. The past 10 days have really been a bit of blur and I am struggling to find something interesting to tell you about. We decided to drive round the Coromandel peninsular on the east coast of the North Island as many people had described this area to be of exceptional beauty. I think the south island spoilt us a bit and we kept finding ourselves wishing that we had spent more time [View Full Entry]

Hello there, its actually on the 2nd December that I am writing this, so its been catch up time again. How do all these bloggers manage to keep their blogs so up to date? We are far too busy with having a fab time and washing our socks. ……speaking of which, have you any idea how long it takes to wash socks without a washing machine…no, well neither do I, we use the machines available on the campsites haha! As you can tell I am in a rather good mood as the last few days have been such fun, let me [View Full Entry]
