Well! The first few days in Athens (has really only been a few days?) have been a whirlwind of activity! I have tried many tasty Greek treats and look forward to eating even more! The food is so incredible, it is like heaven in my mouth. Orientation started yesterday (the 20th) with a flurry of business-y activities and a welcome speech in the evening. The speech was followed by a live viewing of Obama's inauguration with refreshments. The refreshments were more of a dinner... Well I am safe and sound in Athens. The last leg of the journey was a flight from Frankfurt to Athens. There were about a dozen or so students from my program on this flight and I was able to get the chance to get to know a few of them prior to take off. (Incidentally they were also on my flight to Frankfurt.) I was lucky enough to have a window seat on the last flight and I felt just like I was seven again. Hello Everybody! So I have decided that having a travel blog will be easier than sending out emails to everyone. I personally have found it easier to read blogs than emails for one reason or another so I figured, maybe I'm not the only one? I leave for Athens the day after tomorrow!
