Happy Birthday Lovely to hear from you both and to know you are well and safe.
I missed your birthday Holly and for that I am reaaly sorry but I will make it up to you whilst you are here.
You are certainly travelling in areas well out of your comfort zone and so learning so much.
Dark evenings here now which is so depressing.

Birthday in BKK The Chatachak Weekend Market is a MUST for people who love shopping (who doesn't!). Get a metered taxi or the No. 3 or No. 524 bus from Khao San Road area to market. We also liked the Suan Lum Night Bazaar by the Lumphini Metro station (we walked from the Banyon Tree Hotel) . Usual stuff plus loads of cool fashion boutiques.......I could have spent a fortune here!!
We treated ourselves to dinner at the Banyan Tree's Vertigo Bar and Grill. Views are amazing and so is the food but it's pricey. The staff can organise a birthday cake for dessert if you email ahead. You could also just go to the bar at Vertigo....but you should book ahead for both. There's a dress code and people dress up, which makes a change nowadays!
Shopping at MBK and Siam in city centre is also good. The IMAX cinema is in the Siam Centre. 3D tickets are 300B but worth it!
Enjoy.
Holly
Hi Nadine
Once in Ha Tien, we asked some local moto drivers to take us to the bus station catch the afternoon bus to Chau Doc. On our way there, the moto drivers saw the Chau Doc bus so flagged it down. The moto journey cost us $1 (probably too much but we didn't have any Dong!) and the bus cost us $3 (roughly).
Safe travels
Holly
Love it!! Looks, like you had an amazing birthday. I have been to Thailand before but have never spent much time in Bangkok. This trip, however, I will be spending the weekend (June 18-20) there. This also happens to be my girlfriend birthday. So, would really love to speak to you about exactly where you stayed and some more details about the area, if you have the time.
Thanks so much!
kep to chau doc hey there! i came across your blog researching travel options from kep to chau doc (am in kep at the moment and want to go to chau doc on the 12.). do you recall with what travelservice you did the journey? you mention you got on a local bus to. chau doc, from the border in ha tien or did you need to go into the town? your advice will be greatly appreciated as we seem to be a bit stuck with pricequotes of 50 usd for transport...tons of thanks and happy travels! nadine
Jonas Family I think we've met the Jonas Family from Memphis!
Glad you got a break from the rat race to visit Barcelona. And thanks for my birthday card.......I really cannot hide can I ;-). Love you mate. Hxxxxxxxxx
Celebriti3es Callum Best and Care Bear guy. Seriously, you just need to meet up with the Rock of Love or Flava of love (as they are equally cool and legendary) and you will be made up for the trip methinks!
Life through a lens Hi guys, glad you are still having the best time. I have to be honest that life here is currently so busy and draining (in the work, eat, search for different work, go to the gym, watch half an hour of tele, sleep, start cycle again sense) that I have used a good amount of time on this lovely bank holiday to catch up on you blog. I loved your comment about the photo people. EVeryone is so obsessed with documenting everything that they forget to look. Just got back from Barcelona where we watched this woman go round taking photos on all the menus hanging on the wall in one resteraunt. Just dont get it?!!! EVerywhere you try and go there are tonnes of people blocking off the way by taking photos so in the end i decided to just go my own way as there would always be someone wanting to get the best shot, so screw em i say. I wanna revel in the awe of a sunset i aint waiting till the jonas family from Memphis, Tennassee set up the damn shot thrice over. Enough ranting anyway and back to blogging- sounds great so far, and Holly- sorry about your leg, you poor bugger. Stop drinking all those bloody Mai Tais. :)
I really enjoyed your post. I have always wanted to go there. My blog is looking for travel photos. If you have the time, email us some at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com and check us out at dirty-hipppies.blogspot.com.
Continued fun on your travels,
Eric
Update from A Rosalind & U. John Great keeping up with your travels - keep the blogs going. I've never heard of Calum Best before this entry, but I did see his dad play against Southampton in 1972. Unfortunately, Southampton lost 1 - 3 to Man U.
Ros has been really ill since Nov (and off work for most of the time since then). We're in Florida for 2 weeks. Hoping the break will help her to recover and get back to work.
Keep well and continue to enjoy.
Love from all 5 of us.
John
Tet=tat Not too bad having thefirst negative blog after 4 months.

Hiya, we are Dee and Holly from Northampton, England.
We left home on 1st October 2009 to see the world and were away for 447 days in total.
Our journey started in India, Nepal and Hong Kong then SE Asia then Australia and New Zealand and South America . We were home for Christmas 2010.
We were looking forward to finding paradise and the perfect mojito, dabbling in adventure and making new friends along the way. Holly was a little worried about going without hair straighteners and having to 'pack light'. Dee... full info
