Nothing Compares to Whistler!
To Whistler! Especially in the southern hemisphere. Except maybe the Chilean/Argentinian Resorts- like Las Lenas(arg) or Valle Nevado(chile)- but those are much more northerly and dry to compare to Whistler, Bariloche or NZ. Anyways! GREAT PICS! Great BLOG! Loved it all. I found Tekapo and the area around Twizel quite nice however. Desolate, yes- but there's something magical in the silence of the open spaces near Tekapo and Pukaki, the part of New Zealand with the most days of sunshine and in the rain shadow of the Southern Alps, but all the glory of a lanscape scoured by ancient glaciers. Thanks For Posting!! Look forward to your Hawaii blogs...

Lagoon Balos
Lisa-Marie, I believe the only way to get there is by boat. The marina to catch the boat was an hr drive from Chandi and the boat was another 1hr I think. Don't believe there is a resort, but you can camp if you like. We did a day trip. Enjoy and thank you for reading our blog.

Superb photos!
These are some of the best photos of the Great Ocean Road I've ever seen, and being an Aussie, I've looked at plenty of photos! You have really captured the beauty and grandeur of the place. Am glad the weather was good to you, as that coastal area is most unpleasant once the wind and rain arrives! Look forward to seeing more of your great photography!

Ah Memories
Ah memories of my year there last year. I spent many a day walking between Bondi and Coogee. You are right about the prices and food- not much different than Bermuda. The Cronulla riots last year are evidence of the lack of multiculturalism in the city - was very surprised by it too. Your pics; however, are asking me the question - "why did you leave?" Maybe I'll have to give Syd another try sometime - maybe with a different job - will be back visiting friends in July. Cheers!

Sydney
Hey guys. It's a shame you two didn't like Sydney more. When i was there 6 years ago it reminded me a lot of Vancouver (Lion's Gate = Harbour Bridge, Canada Place = Opera House, Ferry from Manly to Circular Quay = SeaBus from N.Shore to downtown, Stanley Park = Hyde Park??, Rainbow District = Rainbow District...).. lots of similarities. Once again...nice pics!

Matt, when you get home I'll show you my pictures of Kho Phi Phi and the 2 bays from 15 years and you'll see nothing but green. Boy oh boy has it changed!!

Wow, I can't beieve how Loh Dalam Bay has changed. When I was there in 1990 there was only small guest houses and the showers were all salt water. Thanks for the blog its been great following your journey.

all tanned up
Those pics look fabulous and you haven't lost your Bermuda tan, that's for sure. My sister is also in Thailand right now, so looking at both of your pics/blogs is getting me very itchy for a hot holiday. Oh yah, and the weather here isn't helping things either. The temp in Saskatchewan for the past week has been on average -30 degrees Celsius which is making my skin look about as tanned as a Scotsman. Although the huge amount of snow is still fun and exciting...as long as my neighbour keeps shovelling it for me.
