Thanks Jo-Ann,
What a delight to be sharing your journey via your blog. Thanks for the updates.
One question: why do the Congolese sisters all wear head pieces?
My blessings to all, Beryl
I'll be following Jo-Ann and all, thanks for this up to the minute reporting on the PACE program at Kimwenza. I'll be following and offering my support. I am making arrangements to travel to the four photovoltaic sites in September-October for upgrades to the systems, and hope to see many of the sisters then.
Dear Sr. JoAnn...Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos...may God Bless you and all the
Sisters there with you..What wonderful work you are doing!

wonderful Jo-Ann,
I think your write-ups give us a hands-on feeling of what your group is doing. And comparing fufu to polenta was helpful --- great teaching strategy.
Blessings!

"You do see...........taking them in your hands." You must be tired; adjusting to environs and jumping into your mission! I enjoyed seeing the sisters ! What lovely bright colors, too! God Bless!
Small world! I love following this. Our Sr. Chantel is here from Congo and diligently working on her English! My French teacher from high school just returned home after 50 years of ministry in Congo. You are all in my prayer. What a great project.
airport Hi, Jo-Ann,
I was telling Pop about your experience in the airport. He wants to write you - I don't think that will happen but he may give me a message to relay to you.
I love your blog!
Great news of safe arrival It is wonderful to learn first hand and so rapidly of your safe arrival. We have had your flights in mind, so now we know that you just have to survive bumpy roads, strange food, and a time-change! It is only 68 degrees here in New England 7/20/12 at 1:15 pm. Esther
good luck HI JO-ANNE
WOW--YOU ARE BRAVE TO BE MAKING SUCH A TRIP
I GIVE YOU A LOT OF CREDIT AND WISH YOU AND YOUR SISTERS A SAFE JOURNEY AND GOOD HEALTH
BLESS YOU ALL FOR THE WONDERFUL WORK YOU ARE DOING.
LOVE YOUR PICTURE ON THE CONGO NOTES

Amazing! Dear JoAnn, I am so happy for you! This is great to be part of your trip to the Congo! Thanks for thinking about doing this blog. Good Luck and my prayers go with you! Trish
Blessings on your travels! Dear Jo-Ann,
May your travels be filled with much joy and happiness! I will look forward to seeing photos and hearing about your ministry in the Congo.
I'm traveling with three other U.S. Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur (SNDdeN) on a trip to Kimwenza in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Our team is part of PACE (Preparatory and Continuing Education), and our students are 40 Congolese Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Congo-Kinshasa Province of our congregation dates back to 1894, when a courageous group of Belgian SNDs started the mission. Today about 120 Congolese sisters, with three Americans and one Belgian, form the membership of the province.... full info
