greetings from Vancouver Island Hello Collin, hope dat you have made it all the way to Alaska. We've arrived at Vancouver Island. If you end up here as well you really have to go to Telegraph Cove. It's absolutely wonderful! And ca. 70 km. from Port Hardy. We're nearing the end of our tour. Hope to read more news on you're blog. Keep on biking!
Dawn's hens are not laying... Hi Col - it's July, dear. Where are you?? To keep ourselves amused in the absence of your blog entry, Dawn has been having lots of hen nights. She's gettin' married next Saturday!!! I'm so nervous! Goodness knows how she feels!! Anyway, we'll raise a glass of bubbly to you, my absent friend. May the road rise up to meet you....or preferably not rise all that much - more of a slight incline with a nice tail wind.....
Yours (worried sickedly...)
Twinkle-mum xx
Amazing - what you are doing....... Hi Col, its amazing what you are doing, I can't believe the photos - fantastic scenery. I don't think I would like the horse flies - with the big teeth! Makes you think of a cartoon drawing - big knashers gleaming from an insect face. Your blogs have so much in them - I will haev to go back and read them all again. Just wanted to say Goog Luck with the next 400.
Radio silence.... it's deafening, this silence. It's like you've gone round the dark side of the moon. I know you're out there, but this is a bit scary!! Sending you loads of hugs (not bear ones, obviously, that would be tasteless...) to get you up those mountains, honey (oh, sorry, not honey, with the bears, that would be tasteless...). Oh, I can't bear it....oops! It's no good, I can't stop thinking about bears, now. Blog us, darn you. (Ooooh, darning, there's another one!). Keep safe you. Twinkle xxx
Let's hope they're not "bear-hind you"!!!! Hey Colin!
I'm officially hooked on your blog (oo er missus!) It's great to hear that you're clocking up the miles and are meeting such fantastic people along the way - I'm surprised that you actually manage to tear yourself away!
Here's loads of good luck for the onward journey, you're doing great and we're all thinking good thoughts to help you through!
Will look forward to reading the next instalment and hearing all about your adventures!
Take care, love Dawn x
Sew so Col, what a brilliant blog you have written so far and with such narratives and banters to hand why bother to read novels. This is much better than Eastenders and the dreaded "Big Brother" is not a patch on this wonderful blog! Your trip so far looks and sounds really awesome and the pics are fabulous. Have sent Keith a link to your blog and we are all following you every step of the way. Can't wait for the next installment. You should have been a writer Col (seriously) and this would certainly be worth publishing (Hard Copy) :-)Have fun and don't forget we need to see those trousers even if they are just sew so!
Bears in trousers So you have seen your first bears albeit from a distance, sounds great and wish I was there. I look forward to hearing more about them when you meet! Only joking of course you don't want to have them round for dinner!! But what an experience to actually see them - wonderful.
Looking forward to seeing you in your stitched trousers!
sewing is a tricky one Oh love you did a great job!!! Maybe next time go to a dry cleaners they will do it for you, that way you cant possibily prick you finger!!
Go Colin!!! Kay's just passed me the link to your page - it's great to hear how well you're doing! The scenery is awesome - you are one lucky man to be out there experiencing it all! I'll certainly keep a check on your page to see how you're doing.
Take care and hope that you stay safe and healthy!
Lots of love
Dawn x

You looked like a little boy! Hi Col
I like that picture of you in the chair - you looked like a little boy, I thought you was small but!!!! Only kidding, you look happy. There's me asking you about the weather in my email then readin your blog I see it has been rough for you, and hard going, the getting across that bridge did sound hairy. You will very fit when you return (or fit for nothing), no seriously you will be in great shape and have all the ladies after you! Take care and look forward to seeing more photos.
Tip of the Week You're not missing much, it's been throwing it down back home for the last few days. But at least you don't have to leave a tip in Yorkshire
Modern Man, eh!! I can't believe you've never done your own washing!!! Thanks for the beautiful pictures - fabulous sunset. Keep safe, my boy. Twinkle x
fantastic story Hi Colin - that's a fantastic story! Glad to read that your first encounter with the bear was a good one! Enjoy the view from the mountains in the next couple of days!
Words of encouragement Hi Col
Just a few words of encouragement (you said any might help), it sounds hard but I know you can do it, and you have only just started.
I loved the photo of the bear. Speak soon.
Yorkshireman speaks Hi Colin
Pretty good blog for a Southerner, really interesting in fact! Good luck when the cycling starts and don't forget to leave very small tips everywhere just like Dave (professional Yorkie) does!

Seen alive and well in Vancouver Diane was in for a service but Colin seemed well when I saw him in Vancouver, seems to be neglecting updating his blog though.

The sun shone a little less brightly.... It's Sunday night and I should be asleep, but I'm sitting here worrying whether you got there ok, and whether Diana made it unscathed...The sun was shining here today, but it'll never be as bright without you! Lot's of hugs from your second mum....xx
