My last full day in the Galapagos was fantastic we got to go into the highlands and see a herd of giant turtles, then we got back onto the boat and go snorkelling with the sea turtles. They let us get really close to them, close enough we could reach out and touch them. After another short boat ride we were snorkelling with a ton of colourful fish, out of no ware a felt something run into me I thought it might have been another snorkeler in my group, but I looked over and it was a baby Sea Lion just [View Full Entry]

Sea Lion
Lizard

I had an amazing day. I got up at 7 am to catch a boat going out to the first island of the day, the island had so many Blue Footed Boobies and tons of Sea Lions. And many other huge birds. All the animals had no fear of us, they let me get close enough to I could reach out and touch them. The Sea Lions just had all there pups, so there were baby Sea Lions all over and they seemed to want to come right up close to us to play. We saw some baby Blue Footed Boobies [View Full Entry]

Sleeping Under A Bush
A Really Big Pelican

I made It to the Galapagos Islands. Its amazing here. The animals let you get so close, you have to watch your step or you'll trip on a sea lion or a giant lizard or sometimes a blue footed booby. I booked a trip tomorrow to see two islands, one has thousands of blue footed boobies and almost as many sea lions. and then we go to a different island to see pink flamingo's and go snorkelling with the see lions and giant turtles. They said we might get to see some hammer head sharks too. The guide says the see [View Full Entry]

Well It was hard work but so much fun. I started with just myself and then others heard of my project and wanted to help. I ended up with with 8 people all together. Two of use took 2 hole days just to patch all the holes in the walls, then one more day to prime. The painting took about a week to complete. My last day was Friday but there was still a few minor things to do. The score board wasn't up and few pot holes had to be filled, I was told the others could handle this and [View Full Entry]

Hard At Work

The Centre Of The Universe, I would of pictured it differently. But What do I know? The Inca believed this site to be holy and at the exact centre of our universe. A group of seven volunteers which of course I was one of them, went to the sacred valley sunday for a view of some Inca sites and a salt mine. It was all really fun and we got to see allot of the country side. As far as my project is going, all is well. The kids love to play football which is our soccer. I'm learning a little [View Full Entry]

Just Another Pic
The Country Side

4 days and 3 nights later we arrive at Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail was amazing. Its was the hardest hike I have ever done. We started off 49 kilometres and 4 mountains away from the Inca capital city. The first mountain we climbed was 1200 metres high and there were many more after that. I was in a group of 18 people 3 guides and 15 porters, the porters were amazing. They would carry all the tents, food and anything else we needed. The porters had about 100 pounds on there back and we had only about half that. [View Full Entry]

I made it to Cusco. Cusco Is a really nice city, lots to see and do. If any one was wondering the picture of the rock is there becouse its the most important rock in the city it has something like 12 cut sides and fits in perfect to the rest of the rocks. The locals are really neat to watch. I signed up for the Inca Trail, its a 4 day hike through the montains and you end up on the look out over Machu Pichu, The trail is the old Inca highway. Should be good. Will have more pic [View Full Entry]

Just Me
4200 Metres Up

Hi Everyone, sorry no pictures this time. Well yesterday I went white water rafting in the deepest canyon on earth, its was pretty good. It was class 2 3 and 4 rappids. Today I went out on the town and saw the famouse Arequipa Ice Mummy, The Ice Mummy was a sacrifice by the inca over 500 years ago. The inca would hike up The tallest mountain and sacrifice young woman to the gods. So to say the least it was a verry creeping looking Ice Mummy. I also saw Santa Catalina Monastery, Its a 400 year monastery wich is basickly [View Full Entry]

Wow I made it to a little oasis town of Ica. And it is really cool. Later today I will be jumping into a Dun Buggy and heading up on of the 1,000 foot sand duns that surrounds the city. We will be heading for the top, and when we get there we will be handed a sand board. Its like a snowboard but a liitle smaller. We will be Snowboarding down a 1,000 foot sand dune. (I mean sand boarding) Hopefully I will have some pics of me falling on my ass in the sand. Talk to you all soon [View Full Entry]
