Cat and Jim
My husband and I are about to begin an adventure.
After approximately 25 years of teaching, beginning in Canada then Mexico, California and again in Canada, I will be teaching at a Bilingual School in Doha Qatar. The students will all be Qatari. I will be teaching grade 3 in English with a British Columbian curriculum. My fellow teachers will all be Canadian.
We will be going on holiday in England and France en route.
It has been an interesting process and as with all processes, it is hard to determine where and when it really began. It could be that it began with our personalities. We both want to see more of the world and prefer a life of discovery over a life of being sedentary. I feel that there will be enough time for that when we are in our old age. I believe an old saying, "live your life well and have interesting experiences so that you can relive them in your memories when you are old." I will try to track down that quote and give it the proper citation. I also believe that it is better to regret what you did rather than what you didn't do.
Thank you all for reading this, I would love some feed back.
My husband and I both love photography. I think that it was one of the things which attracted us to each other. He has taken extensive training in photography at Palomar College in San Diego. He took this training after he retired prematurely from the San Diego Fire Department. I come from a family of artists. My grandfather and father were professional photographers. My mother, sister and brother are painters. Someday, I would love to take this up too. But, in the meantime, it is travel and teaching.
