Safety of medical services at Chinese Hospital I recently received an antihistamine shot at the Chinese Hospital due to a severe allergic reaction. My home doctor is concerned that the needle may have not been new and could have been reused. Is this a concern at the Chinese Hospital? Should I be tested for HIV?
Finding Happines by Traveling in Laos Traveling in Laos will not make us regret. I love going there because many kinds of happiness are offered to us. That have made me relax there is that by having twenty minute head massage and full body massage there.

Services's hospital To whom it may concern at Chinese hospital.
As I went and do service at you hospital on 09th Jul, 2011(( father))
The location and style was nice, but reference staff service was bad, 24 hours only cost of pocket money or tea money for themselves. I got experienced the staff here they not real working for the hospital. they worked and catch money for their families not for the hospital ((my observation))
I did few walking around the hospital have seen the red sign on the walls wrote: Paid money with doctors or nurses ((not in order))
Events staff speech to relations of patient are impolite. So I would like the Management check the as well as it working on and well done future
Herewith regards

Great stuff... Sa Bai dee,
Just read thru your blog and already I'm missing Laos(food, calmness, etc.) ...being its only been just a couple of weeks since I was just there visiting my birth place in Thakhek in 33 years, its still about the same.
Thanks again for sharing all the stories, hope to read it in a book someday:)
Well wishes to your new found path of culinary adventure ~ Cheers
Yes Please Hi Britt, we'd love to keep up with what you are doing! Please send me the link to your new blog.
Also, I have finally started my travel blog, about my time working in Guangzhou, China in Sept/Oct and hope to work backwards and complete blogs about our travels over the last few years. So if you are interested, let me know and i will send you my link!!
Hope you are happy and well, and would love to catch up sometime. xx
Hello Hey there!! Where are you at the moment? I am traveling to China in Sept / Oct / Nov and wonder if you have plans to visit there at all. Would love to catch up with you.
I have some friends who will be traveling to Luang Prabang in December / January and it would be lovely if you could meet up with them and spend some time. David & Carmel have been friends for almost 30 years and are really lovely people, and also their son Tom is just a little bit younger than Lucas. So let me know what your plans are and hopefully you can get to meet them (and they get to meet you!). Lots of hugs and kisses and hope that all is well with you. xxxx Tracey & Ian
Excellent writing As ever, well written and full of great observation. We flew home to the UK from Bangkok 3 days ago after 4 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia. Maybe Laos next time!
Appreciation for Blogs Hi B ritt
I'v e enjoyed reading your blogs about life in Laos this year. But I think your last blogs sent in the U.S. re living conditions in Laos and "who sends you money each month" were for me the most touching. I agree with you that the distribution
of wealth in the world is very unfair. And our "inconveniencies" in the developerd c ountries are just that. And certainly not "life threatening" Thank you for sharing.
Terri
The world is a tough place. Indeed it is a tough place, yes in our great nation America we have so much. And the posibilities are endless.Maybe the Lao people appreciate the little they have as opposed to many people here that feel that nothing is enough.Or that they are owed something from the labors of others.Fred.
Differences It's probably an odd thing to notice, but the first big difference I saw when I came back to America were the streets. They're so big, and everything is so spread out.. It's just weird.
What's sad is that, even after having been to these places, the longer you spend away from it, the more you forget, I think. You forget the disparity that exists, the fact that everything here (in the US) is at your fingertips, and life is just pretty easy, when put in perspective. Since you spent such a long time in Laos, though, hopefully you won't forget. IMO, some things in America and the rest of the world need to change.
Thanks for posting this~it's important to be reminded of such things.
We can only experience the difference if we stay in the same place Hi Britte,
I very much agree with you. Until i got to experience life in a busier country that i started to realised that what i used to have back at home, friends, family and small house, are the real happiness. We dont need anything too fancy to eat, wear, go out to, to feel the happiness. We are happy with what we have, when we have and where we have them. We take things as they come. Sometimes i feel frustrated myself when i was in laos that everything run so slow but now living in a world that everything has to be on time, i then look back and appreciate life in laos more. There is nothing fun pretending to be busy or have to be busy walking on the street that no body talks or smiles to each other..make life more stressful here.
How are you by the way? Moving back to the US for good now? or still miss life back in LPB?? hehe . Im doing good here in Melbourne, though the weather right now is so cold. I miss home, friends, food, and weather back in laos. I will go back for a visit Jan next year, will prob travel up to LPB again, the town i never get bored of and glad people's lifestyle up there doesnt run with the world either or at a very slow pace.
Keep updating your blog. I am a follower :)
Take care,
Da
Do not to sanitary into the lavatory! I just wanted to tell you that I love your blog! I've only read a couple of entries, but they were fantastic, and I definitely plan to read more.
I've added you to my Google Reader, so I'll be able to see the updates on there.
I absolutely love Laos. I, like you originally, only got to stay there briefly, but I intend to go back and hope to be there much longer next time. That day, though, remains far away. Until then, I'm lucky to have somebody like you posting about life in such a beautiful country :). Thanks~! :)
Dengue Cure Experience I was sick for 3 days already so i decided to go to the hospital for checkup. the doctor asked me to have a cbc and the result showed that my platelet count was below normal. the normal is 150,000 to 450,000 and mine was 140,000. we were already worried and hope that it is not dengue. aside from the paracetamol, all we can do was to wait for another couple of days to observe for symptoms of dengue and have a cbc again. i searched the web and found out about this site and tawa-tawa leaves. i immediately called NHA and looked for Ms. Portia. she was very nice and very accomodating on the phone and even consoled me because i was really worried. the next day, we went to NHA and she gave us tawa-tawa leaves. i started drinking the tawa-tawa tea then have a cbc test again the following day but the results were still low, my platelet count dropped to 139,000 and white blood cell count and others also dropped below normal levels. the doctor advised us to have a retest the following day and i just continued drinking the tea. i was very anxious and have a retest the following day. to our surpise my platelet count rose to 380,000 and the white blood cells, etc became normal. it was indeed a miracle. i don’t know how that happened but i know that the tawa-tawa and the prayers helped me. thanks! God is good. Keep the faith! -- Joey at http://www.denguecure.com
re:$6 Massage Hi Frankie,
Most places in town are $6, only some fancy spas and hotels charge more than that. The average massage parlor you walk by on the street is set at the very fair price of $6. Next time you'll know!
