So great to hear about you! Hey Laura (and Tom)!
Your time in China thus far sounds great! I can't wait to hear more about teaching in Beijing and everything else that's going. Was the funeral for Tom's grandmother? If so, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope he's doing alright.
Sending you positive thoughts for all your adventures!

re: celebrity I'm glad Matt is reading my comics! there are some good ones in there :) Since this is an engineering school there are mostly boys, it's pretty weird they are very cocky and disruptive just like any 19 yr old boys. Thanks for your kind words <3
Classes! Wow, they took photos of you in class? Sorta distracting... Congratulations, you're a celebrity! If you value your private time, don't give them your phone number or address, or you will be BOMBARDED by people (not even just your students) wanting help with English.
They are sweet, though, aren't they? I remember my students being very shy and self-conscious about speaking English out loud. Wow, I'm surprised you have a class of almost all boys. When Matt and I were at Yantai U., it was almost totally girls.
Sounds like you are doing a great job and becoming a great teacher. Good luck beating the heat! It does get better, from what I remember. It may have hit 100 degrees here today, BTW. Tomatoes are finally getting red.
Love,
Colleen

Missing China, Reading Your Post! Aw, you make me miss China. ...Except for the train rides, LOL.
I think it would have been easier for Matt & me if one of us had had family over there. I'm glad you're getting along with them! Yeah, why don't you & Tom start having some beautiful babies already! ;)
And I know what you mean about getting paid in yuan. When we went traveling during the winter, people kept thinking we were filthy stinkin' rich, which would have been true, I guess, if we had been getting paid American wages.
I'm looking forward to reading your next post about starting teaching...

P.S. Matt is reading your comics. :)
culture shock! holy crap, sounds hot, yay for your first class going well! And McDonalds delivery??? must be better quality than here cuz whenever I don't eat my burger immediately it gets all soggy and gross...lol. Don't have to much fun "playing" ;)
Awesome Excellent, glad is going awesomely well for you. Everyone will be speaking English fluently in no timr with your assistance. Love you, miss you.
Hello Sounds like a fun adventure. 12 hours on a train. Sounds like a normal road trip for us. Their idea of death seems much healthier than ours in the US. How sweet you and a little two year old teaching each other. I wonder if you will see each other again on that long train ride. Hopefully you won't run into the annoying Mc talk alot again. More Grandkids sounds good, but all in your timng....Have fun, Love you, Miss you. Love , Mom
