Great photos Good to see that you are both having such a good time. You obviously have seen some very interesting flora and fauna judging by the photos. Just one thing though - are you sure Gino wasn't a naturalist rather than a naturist?!!
Great Photos Great blog. I am disappointed I didn't get to do this trip. It looks fantastic. By the way, I think the unkown flower is known as patuju in Bolivia. Russ
Vulture-like bird Hi Dom and Bex,
Love seeing your pics of your trip. The vulture-like turkey is a turkey vulture! We have them in our neighborhood. Watch out - they are very strong and mean - a group of them moved a full size, dead deer about 15 feet to the side of a road, in order to feast without getting run over!
Love, Aunt Anna
Hello Thanks for the blog. The place looks truly amazing. As Susan said interesting so many places called Huan. Des got his NUT Officer job back in the UK. He will have to wear a suit insteasd of his scruffy black jeans! But he will be back with St Delia. Looking forward to seeing more pics. Enjoy your travels.
Mi Peru Nice stories.I lived in Peru for 12 years from 84 till 96 but first started going there in 1973.My wife and kids are Peruvian, were now living here in Cambridge UK since 2000 I was working in Canada from 96 till 99 on the oil pipe lines and in 2000 we all moved here,me back to where I grew up my family came to a new life here in UK.My wife is from Huaraz and all her family are from up even higher living in Casas de Adobe and her uncle untill two years ago used to go to the snow level on his mule about 3 am and bring ice from the glacier down to Huaraz to sell to keep the fish fresh...Iworked as a Guide and during the Gurilla War in the eighties and early ninties when tourism was slow I drove a VW Beatle Taxi in Lima and when a nervous Gringo or Englishman would get in my Taxi after they would calm down a bit and they not knowing I was English as I would bargain the price down in Spanish with them with hand and finger signs ans I was very brown and spoke Spanish and drove a car like a Peruvian and then I would turn around and say to them ...WAR YA FROM MATE with a London accent...
It was always so funny and they would always get the fare half price cheaper than a Peruvian Taxi Driver.
Hope ya like the story as yours was so good and kind towards Peruvians.
Charlie

Great you've had time to chill by the sea after your visit to the mountains.
Really enjoying following your trip.
Colette was out on holiday last week and your mum invited us in for a meal and to watch the wedding DVD. Lovely to see and hear the speeches again. It really was a lovely day.
Take care, Susan
Re¨Good to hear from you. Susan,
There was snow about 200m above us but none where we were walking! We thought we might get some skiing in in Chile in a couple of weeks, but it´s not the season - shame, we´ll just have to wait til NZ!! Take care, Love to Pedro xxxx
Good to hear from you. Great to hear how you are doing. Was there any snow when you were so high up or is it not the right time of year?
