Pumpkin Pie Jealousy I`m so jealous that you got pumpkin pie! I wasn`t able to find any here in Japan, not suprising, and I wasn`t able to make any either. Looks like you had fun. Continue writing I love hearing about Europe.

Hi Annie: I'm very envious of you - what a great experience! The pies look wonderful - you did good and it looks like your Dad taught you well with the turkey. Christmas in Austria - what a great thing to share with your grandchildren some day. We will miss you all at Christmas but we will be thinking of you all together in Austria. Love You, Aunt Betty
Can't wait! I've rented an apartment in Vienna close to Annie's dorm. I'll be spending a week with her before Ned, Ben and Andrea come to Frankfurt. Jon is flying in on the 18th and will join us in Vienna. How nice to get a preview of what Vienna looks like for Christmas!
missing you! Hi Sweetie! Your travel blogs continue to be great. It's as close to being there as you can be and still be home in Minneapolis! Wanted to let you know that we'll be thinking of you at Thanksgiving. Hope your classes are going better now that you've got a new prof. Love you!
Frosty That is the kind of snowman that I like. Good job getting the puddle into the shot. It makes for a comical point of view. Hope you're having a great time.
wonderbarr !!!!!!!! Hi annie, we sure enjoyedthe travelblog!! a package is on its way!!!
we will have Thanksgiving with Gary and N ancy and Friday with the Tjeerdsmas and the Eberline's. Have fun with your family at Christmas.
Can I see that when I come? Hey Kiddo! Will I get to see that castle when I come? I'd love to walk up that staircase. I can't believe it's only about a month till we'll all be there! Keep up the wonderful reporting and feel free to send me any pics you think I'd like.
LY,
Jon
Austrian bear is a musician!! Check out the sax around the neck of the Austrian bear. Ha! My acupuncturist is Austrian and grew up in Vienna. I'm envious of your opportunity to live there for a while! Congrats on the landing the intern job!
Love, Karen
More great pictures and stories, Annie! Could you save some of that beautiful weather for when we come to visit you? I hope you're making a list of the best places to visit so that you can take us there, too! BTW, I have a problem with the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog - he has a brown tail....
Mercedes-Benz and Beer I absolutely love your pictures! Especially the one with the rose and the one with the fisherman. I have to say I`m jealous that you got to go to the Mercedes-Benz museum, it was closed when I was there. I think the beer might be 1 liter no matter what time of year at a beer garden. At least that`s what it was in Munich when I was there. (I didn`t have any though). That`s one gian pretzel. Yikes. Keep having a great time.
I am sooooo jealous of everything that you are getting to see/do. It sounds like so much fun. I am glad thought that you are having a great time and making the best of everything. Not that I ever doubted you would. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your travels! And see all of the pictures... your pictures are so great. :) Keep having fun and enjoy your classes.
Giant Water Lilies I would like to thank my wonderful brother for always being there for me when I have a plant question. :-) I'm glad to hear how close I was with my description! Giant Water Lilies have always impressed me, and they come from the Amazon...well, now we know why they're so big! Now, it seems there was mention of a website, too, but it didn't quite make it into the post...maybe we'll get another posting here soon and we can all see this man on a pad!
Jealous Hey Kiddo,
Those are Giant Water Lilies (Victoria amazonica). They come from the Amazon. Here's a web site where you can find a little more information. There's even a picture of a man standing on one! It's pretty incredible.
I think this is a recurring theme in my comments, but I can't tell you how jealous I am of your travels! Thanks for taking the time to tell us all about them. Your writing just flows and it seems like you're here standing next to me telling me all about it! Keep it up, I can't wait for the next installment of the Groelz Express!
Incidentally, did you get a CD of their Big Band music while you were there? I can't wait to raid your music collection upon your return! Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself!

Jon
I've been in Europe for three months now, and still have 3 more to go. I'm a 5th year senior with one semester left before I graduate, and what better way to spend it than by studying abroad? Predominantly I'll be in Germany and Austria, but will be taking in sights and sounds all over Europe. This blog is intended to keep friends and family updated about my adventures overseas. I hope everyone enjoys my blog and keeps in touch!... full info

Shonbrunn
Forgot to mention. I saw Shonbrunn too. But it looks even better at night with the Christmas lights. :) Joy
