more beautiful photos! Beautiful sites... I would think the fog is typical for the area throughout the year.... Your pictures always make me wish I could go there... some day! Be careful of the Turks- they are some of the people those monastaries were built against.....
always the engineer! leave it to the engineer to look at incredible antique art and culture but be most amazed by the way they winch stuff onto clifftop fortresses!
(i do the same thing and the art lover i travel with whacks me every time!)
keep the notes coming!!

Delphi I read that the oracles at Delphi were high on gas coming out of the rocks. Did you see evidence of this? Were you a little light headed and begin predicting stuff? love the pics and the dramatic vistas...great shots!
quit teasing us..... Pretty cool rubbing elbows with movie stars from the "Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", but then you tease us geeks with Galileo's telescope and you don't even have the courtesy to post a photo.....what's up with that???? Maybe you were still recovering from "David".
Keep the photos coming....you're doing great!!!
This is great What a terrific trip you have shared with us! The pictures are like postcards, and you continue to make me laugh. Just one question..... how do you know that you don't snore like a she bear?
my Cyprus trip in 2011 You have to pay special attention as you scuba and canoe around Cyprus. My brother and I are trying to plan a trip to Larnaca, an east coast city in the Greek region where Lazarus is buried (the secdond tomb--the one he stayed in. It seems a lot of ferries are discouraged by the politics of the region--if you enter the country at a port in one political jurisdiction, you can't row around to a city in another political area. So they've apparently chucked it all and they don't go there right now. If you notice something helpful, please holler.
long lost relative Hello from Lorretta Lautzenheiser Johnson, half sister of Glen. Grew up in Monteagle, Tennessee. Got this link from my cousin Kenneth Lautzenheiser. Saw Glen the last time I was in Tennessee visiting mother Geneva Elliott.
Glad you are having such a great time Anne Just heard how great your Moms visit to Croatia was Enjoy Italy and please share how Greece is Love Jim and Joann
Cool pics Hey Anne - I've enjoyed your adventure blog and pics. FYI - If your plans include Austria and you need a place to crash south of Vienna (Baden/Gumpoldskirchen) my brother lives there and would welcome english speaking visitors. JT
Hiking queen Well "hiking queen" mostly kept up, but there were a number of places with LOTS more steps that Annie did alone! What a great trip with my wonderful daughter!! mommo
water love all the action shots. I can't understand how the water is so clear. it seems to be absolutely pristine. I imagine this is a far cry from Napoli
A long time ago..... Since its been a while since you posted, I'm guessing you and Mom are having too much fun. Also, your Vols really provided some great entertainment against LSU...flipping Les MIles is the luckiest guy in the world that day.
no Viking Queen Photos! where is a picture of the Queen?
i was lookimg forward to a family photo in a beer hall!
also, you looked pretty comfortable in the snow...sure you won't like it in Akron?
Ironworker Discovered the extra photos....great. The way you like to overhang cliffs, high places and rocks...maybe you should have been an iron worker. Take good care of your momma...see if you can get a picture of here hanging on to a cliff !!!!! Enjoyed the last write up. Did you get my text? Dan O'Connor is visiting Huntsville tonite and tomorrow nite.....guess I will be having a few beers with an old friend.
I'm loving your pictures and stories Thanks for letting us go with you - virtually! This has given us the bug to plan another extended trip in a few years. We went to Cesky and Budweis and had the same impressions. Nice to see they haven't changed in 15 years. Keep up the good work!
