טיול סוסים לשבט רועי האיילים - Horseback Riding to Reindeer-Herding Community

בגיחה קצרה למונגוליה ביקרנו אצל שבט הצאטן, קהילה מסורתית של מגדלי איילי צפון. הקהילה שוכנת בצפון מונגוליה בסביבת אגם חובסגול. שכרנו סוסים ומדריך רכיבה מקומי ביחד עם איתמר ויהל, עוד שני ישראלים שפגשנו. רכבנו יום וחצי לכל כיוון והגענו לאזור מבודד ללא גישה לכלי רכב, ובו פזורים אוהלים מסורתיים דמויי טיפי. בכל אוהל מתגוררת משפחה ולכל משפחה יש עדר של כמה עשרות איילים. האיילים מהווים את המקור העיקרי לכלכלת השבט, והם מספקים להם חלב ובשר לאכילה, עורות, פרוות וקרניים כחומרי גלם, ואפילו אמצעי תחבורה. התארחנו יום ושני לילות בשטח של אחת המשפחות, הכרנו מעט מהתרבות המסורתית שלהם, שתינו ואכלנו מהמזון המקומי, שיחקנו איתם קלפים ופגשנו את האיילים, חיות יפות ומקסימות.

In a brief tour to Mongoia, we visited the Tsaatan tribe, a traditional community of reindeer growers. The community is located in northern Mongolia around Lake Khovsgol. Togather with Itamar and Yahel, two more Israelis we've met, we rented horses and a local riding instructor. We were riding a day and a half each way and came to a secluded area without vehicle access, which is scattered with traditional tipi-like tents. Every family lives in a tent, and has a herd of several dozens of reindeers. The herds are the main source of the tribe's economy. They provide milk and meat as food, skins, fur and antlers as raw materials, and even a transport solution. We stayed two nights and one day with a family, met some of their traditional culture, drank and ate local food, played cards with them and met the reindeers, which are beautiful, lovely animals.
