still in rishikesh and hard to believe it's been almost a week. the time seems to go so quickly here and without having to do much.

it was a false alarm about it being cooler here, it just happened to be slightly cooler that day we arrived, otherwise it's still damn hot.

i have been working on my karma etc. somebody (a very dubious guy who called himself "Om" which is not a name, it is a concept, so we didn't take it too seriously) told Monica her karma was only 88% good, and she must bathe in the ganga as a matter of some urgency. despite much asking around, i have not been able to get anyone to rate my karma, so i am a bit worried, it can't be good.

anyway, the ganga here is much nicer than in varanasi, and it's extremely cold, as it is not so far from the himalayas, so it's quite refreshing to have a dip. i have been in twice so now i believe my karma must be in credit and i can safely do a few bad things....?

we have also done yoga a few times, including once at 7:30am! that must be extra good.

not sure how my chakras are doing, i might see about getting them re-aligned (despite my previous understanding, chakra re-alignment is NOT something that is done on your cars MOT).

so, rishikesh is cool spiritually if not temperature wise. in our hostel we have a guy who plays didgeridoo and a guy playing drums, so bit of a jam session going on....

we were originally planning on heading towards shimla, manali, dharamsala, parvati valley etc, which is all sort of near here northwest. but we have realised that the nearest place is at least 12 hours by bus, so once again, in the interests of comfort, we changed our plans somewhat. we are going to get a train (also 12 hours, but trains way more comfy than buses, but trains only go certain places cos of mountains etc) to Amritsar, home of the sikh golden temple. then from there we can cross back to those other places within our limit of 6 hours or so.
