We have done so much in such a short space of time....it's been amazing! We arrived in Mumbai and flew straight out to Cochin where we stayed for 5 days in Fort Cochin to climatize our bodies and minds!! It is a small place which is by the sea with 400 year old fishing nets and beautiful scenery, we can't belive that we saw an eclipse of the sun which india will not see again in 1,000 years thats 2 now in our lifetime...and just to top that day we also saw wild dolphins in the sea moments before, it does not get any better than that.....We feel so lucky to be here and experience what we have so far...we then moved onto Allepey Kerala, and spent a bit of dosh on renting an overnight houseboat which blew our minds it was beautiful..all the other tourists taking photos of our boat...we felt like a lord and lady cruising down the backwaters with our driver and chef...The boat was made out of Bamboo and had a 4 poster wooden bed...what luxury to start our journey!! We met up with our friends from Bury Mat & Jackie and had a lovely day and funny evening with them...always nice to see friends from home. After 4 days we headed off on local bus, no windows by the way....bumpey 2hr ride up to Cochin where we then bused it again to the Western Ghats and Munnar, what a change of scenery....it is in the mountains covered in tea plantations...i have to say its the most beautiful place so far...reminds us of england because its so bloody cold at night 0 celsius....glad we packed a jumper and jeans...the locals say its freezing in there hats and gloves and Ski jackets... such a funny sight for india. We visited a tea museum today and learned all about the tea process....drinking plenty of it so thought we should educate ourselves...so interesting.....spices everywhere cardoman trees, even chocolate which we have obviously binged out on.......Food is good plenty of Thali and curries....feeling really well and enjoying every second here. The people here are so nice and friendly life is good....will be moving on in a couple of days will update more then...Sorry no photos as this computer no cd drive...taken ages to find interent also....don't worry as soon as we find cd drive will upload photos....Our love to family and friends.xxxxxx
