1: Tuk Tuk ride in India 20 secs
Hey guys,
Well back to Delhi to catch our flight out, I'll use this entry to reflect on our India visit. Basically India kicked our asses, both mentally and physically. A friend we met in Africa told us that in order to enjoy India you have to fully surrender yourself to India and then you'll enjoy it and I feel we fought it the whole way and ended up losing.

As a traveller, India is a must do at least once, the sights to be seen here are really amazing. It's just that the sights you see most of the time greatly affect your view of this country. We met some of the most friendly people on our travels who were very helpful and more than willing to share any knowledge we wanted on Indian culture and way of life, but we also met a lot of people who try to screw you over. I know it's not just an India issue as East Africa travel was also hard but in India it seems more concentrated as if it is always around you.

As for being ill with the Delhi Bellies I was surprised we made over 200 days without getting ill but it didn't help the situation. The food in India is amazing, we both got to experience new tastes which we both enjoyed and will be more inclined to go to an Indian restaurant now then we would have before. The level of noise pollution is insane, as one cab driver tried to explain to us "if I don't constantly honk my horn we can't drive forward"... really?? The non stop use of horns has now made the horn honking the most ignored sound on the streets of India. No one pays attention to it but it is always there like the worst sound track to your life. Now down to the main turn off that really did it for us, the garbage every where and the constant smell of urine. I understand the infastructure and waste management systems of India are probably beyond the breaking point but there is an easy fix

1.) Indian men STOP PISSING EVERYWHERE!!!!!! IT'S DISGUSTING AND IT SMELLS AWFUL. USE A TOILET, YOU ARE NOT A DOG, PISSING IN PUBLIC PLACES ON PUBLIC BUILDINGS IS NOT COOL.
2.) Everyone in India locals and visitors, stop littering! Even if there are no land fills or systems in place to remove waste throwing garbage everywhere doesn't help.

That's it, no more complaining. India was a good experience for us but I doubt we'll ever return, ok that's a lie we're going to the Adaman Islands for sure but that's more like Thailand and I guess we'll probably have to stop in Delhi when we go to Trek in Nepal with Brock and Diane (plant the seed) so I'll be back but I won't like it 😊

Until the next one

Cheers,

Matt & Tyne
