After an amazing lunch, we set out to tour the Cu Chi tunnels - part of a 200KM long network built in the 1960's by the Viet Cong. At its height, the tunnels stretched from Saigon (30KM away) to the Cambodian border. This tunnel system connected post offices, hospitals, weapons factories, and shelters allowing the Viet Cong to control large rural areas of the country. Our guide demonstrated how easily camouflaged the entrances to these tunnels were.
