Arrived in Saigon very early after the sleeper train and after checking into our hotel we headed to the Cu Chi tunnels. this is a huge network of underground tunnels where the vietnamese hid and fought from during the war. the network is really extensive but the spaces are very small and claustrophobic. (and filled with bugs!! you will probably be seeing a common theme in all of my blogs about bugs!!)
Also visited the War museum today which was very harrowing - so many innocent people killed and very graphic photos to show it.
Tuesday was the Mekong Delta and we took a boat along the Mekong River and saw floating markets, a coconut candy factory, popcorn factory (lots of free samples!) and rowed a sanpan whilst wearing a conical hat! We stayed with a very nice family on an island in the mekong. The rain and thunder was so bad that we just had to stay in their house and Ross and I became quizmasters again for Pub Quiz part deux.
